This is the tornado I saw outside of my home before it was demolished completely. Absolute monster tornado, The El Reno...

I saw the same thing at my house the day before yesterday and caught it on camera. But I also caught something else on camera that I didn’t realize. The light bursts and bolts were going on behind the cloud but in front of the cloud was a small light fluttering around. Also I had no winds, no forecast for rain, and only where the sky was lighting up was there a huge cloud. The rest of the sky was perfectly clear. This wasn’t far away. It was very close to my home so there should have been the sound of thunder. And this went on for hours not moving. It stayed at the same spot in the sky with the flashes following a 1-2-3 pattern.

A dark dungeon of death with scorpions and spiders eating you alive or blown away in a tornado. Too bad there aren't any good choices.

I’ve heard of people running with just the resonator. I have a 53”(?) mast and 75, 40 & 20 meter resonators. I mounted 3/8x24 mount on back corner of truck bed. I’ve tried going 55 mph on a 2 highway and it held up ok. I’ll have to get a 3/8 stud and try mounting a resonator to see how it works to save wind resistance and height clearance.

Hello, I have a question. I have the similar P-Touch label but the LCD screen is not working because every time I insert the batteries I turn it “On” and the screen is barely noticeable, but also black boxes appear. They don’t respond to any command or key that I touch. What should I do? Thank you beforehand 😢

The more videos I see on this radio, the more I think I might get one for POTA, portable, and RV'ing. The menu system is scary - ha. I have an FT-710 in my shack.

Very nice shot and great video on Supercell development. If you estimated you were 100 miles away from that Supercell, the anvil top must be about 60,000 ft, give or take.😊

It's an unobtainable radio. I tried for months to get the 3b, and I never could. If it is that popular, they may ask for help with production. I went with a QMX and QMX+ instead. It's a far better radio.

I used to be a fan of frequency agile non-resonant antennas, such as 135ft OCFD and Windoms. I have in recent years moved primarily to 135ft EFHW antennas that are resonant. They have nearly the same efficiency as resonant dipoles and they are much easier to deploy. Your antenna looks like it is based upon a military design. That does not mean it is an efficient antenna. It means it is frequency agile, rugged, and can be deployed by ignorant GIs. I get concerned when I see a tuner is a necessary part of the system. In the strictest sense as defined by PhD Ben Witveit, the one Dr NVIS, NVIS range is 200km to sometimes 300km. This is my setup for NVIS. I thought I watched your video a year or two back and commented, but I didn't see my previous comment. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5dzfclytpeZlKc.htmlsi=sLYqJ0-OkCZyD7oU

The lean is really easily overcome simply by replacing the tripod with guy wires. We put these up without tripods and the way you do it is you have a total of 8 guy wires 4 at one level (about 12 ft) and 4 at another level (about 24 ft). you draw a line straight through the base plate, go out about 12 ' from the base plate (mast sections are 4') in either direction and attach an anchor then you lay the antenna down so that the antenna is perpendicular to your base anchor line and place another anchor next to the antenna 12' from the base plate. then place another anchor 12' in the opposite direction of the antenna. You should now have 4 anchors all 12' from the base plate (think of base plate as pitchers mound and the 4 anchors, home, 1st 2nd and 3rd base. Then attach 4 guy wires from the 12' high (on the mast) point and run 2 to each side anchor. Next attach 4 guy wires from the 24' high (on the mast) and attache them to the side anchors. So using the baseball analogy the base plate is the pitchers mount, the side anchors are 1st and 3rd. you will then take a 24'(high) and a 12' (high) guy wire that are attached at 12, and 24 on the mast and run those out to 2nd base. You will now have left one 12' wire and one 24' wire (attached to the mast at those heights you will use the 24' wire to pull the antenna up. You will start at the base plate and as you pull the end wire up it will begin to bow in the middle with the end coming up when the end/top of the antenna gets about 10 to feet in the air you will then begin pulling on the 24' wire and the 12' wire at the same time and the mast will eventually stand itself (like a bow returning to its natural state) up and you will attach the last two wires at home plate. Once all of your anchors are secure it will withstand gale force winds.

That doesn't draw water through the tarp? I'm thinking because of the blue attachment? I'm having a heck of a Time draining my pull tarp without drawing the water that's good underneath through. So if this doesn't do that would you please let me know because I'm desperate at this point
