Hi Dan! I've heard microcannulas can get stuck at times when performing procedures on the face. How is this prevented, and what is done if it does happen?

It’s sometimes difficult to penetrate the skin or through the SMAS layer. The best way is to use a larger needle to initiate the hole & spin it a few times. If your cannula gets stuck, spin it with a little pressure until it gives. Practice makes perfect. All the best. Dan

Hey I love your content just watched all your videos and subscribed. Can you do a more in-depth tear trough technique video? Have you ever used a vein finder to do fillers? What actually happens if you inject filler into the artery under the jaw? my friend said you could have a brain aneurysm and die.

Paulina Marie XO 👋🏼 thanks for subscribing and your terrific questions. 1. I’ll see if I can provide a demo comparing my technique vs what’s the standard for correcting tear troughs. 2. An aneurism is an enlargement of an artery that can lead to a rupture if untreated. Although a possibility, an occlusion of an artery is more likely the risk we do our best to avoid. Although rare, occlusions are more likely to occur at an area on the face. Less commonly includes blindness. Extremely rare cases includes stroke or heart attack. Another reason why all injectors should have as much training possible. Including cadaver courses, and what to do in the case of an emergency. Hope this helps! Dan.

Restore the mid cheeks first at the deep fat. Then if necessary, you can go ahead and treat the tear troughs. See my other video on tear troughs!

For mid face use a thick HA filler to lift the cheek. For tear troughs, use the thinnest crosslinked ha filler possible.

Hi Anna, I’m not a plastic surgeon, so I don’t offer that procedure. I’ve heard mixed reviews with fat transfers. I think it could be done well in the right hands.

Dan, I got the deep fat restored like you talk about in the video, and my tear troughs are still super deep and bad. It didn’t help. They seem to be anchored like a true tear trough. So, since them placing the deep fat loss in the medial cheek, I want to get fillers under my eyes. Am I looking for an injector to go in deeply so it doesn’t show through the skin, or more shallow?

Im having the same thoughts. Because when you insert the cannula, its all soft inside. And sometimes u can feel some (very little) fibrous tissue that u can feel while inserting.

A higher G prime filler = a thicker filler A lower G prime filler = a thinner filler

Restore the deep fat in the mid cheek. You can also try PRP, and I’ve heard mono threads are promising.

So if I go in to a Board Certified PS, is it likely he/she would be injecting it superficially? Or deep fat? I love that you made this, and it totally makes sense, but I can't help but wonder, if this isn't typically treated this way (deep fat), will I have to show them this video? 😁 Thanks for this!

You don’t need to see a BS PS. You should see a medical provider with expertise in medical aesthetics, with a good reputation. Plastic surgeons don’t learn about fillers in their courses. They learn about surgery. Neither do Doctors, Nurses or Dentists. Medical Aesthetics is an entirely different branch of courses that all of these providers must learn separately. Here’s my approach. Start with filling the mid cheek. It’s the fist place we tend to lose deep fat in the face, often resulting in a mild tear trough deformity. @@pineappleflow2876 Of course! Especially if they perform consistently good tear trough work. That said, it doesn’t matter what role you have, medial aesthetics is a combination of medicine and art. If you don’t have an aesthetic eye, your title won’t mean much if your results are consistently subpar.

I cannot begin to understand what he's trying to show with his hands, let alone why videos like this have good feedback. From what I understand, the deep fat of the SOOF is below the orbital fat. When the SOOF shrinks, it can cause the tear trough to become more pronounced and the orbital fat also can push through more as the surrounding tissue atrophies. However, what he shows with his hands is shrinking deep fat that is ABOVE sagging superficial fat. What fat compartments is he speaking on specifically? He just says "deep fat" and then shows with his hands in the least professional way possible -___-

60 percent of the time it works every time! why would you tell people to put filler in their tear troughs thats a horrible suggestion. it always always always looks abnormal.
