Today we start the teardown and pull the old 6 cylinder engine out of our 1955 Chevy 3100 big window pickup in preparation for the LS swap and suspension upgrades.

I just came across your channel, thanks for sharing. I have a 1955 2nd series GMC PU I've had for 45yrs, I bought it from my folks when I was 14yrs old. Just recently my wife and I went down to Metal Works in Eugene OR and spoke to them about dipping it. Knowing I have to completely tear it down I'm sure I will ask my wife to help. Looking forward in watching how you progress through the build, good luck.

I’d love to be able to start with a stripped body like that. I’m always afraid that I would have nothing left after stripping due to the amount of rust here in Wisconsin. Thanks for watching!

For safety reasons l would replace cab flooring. Ford 9 inch. And mustang 2 front suspension.

What was the gas tank you put in it? I have a 56 just like yours.

tanksinc.com. Check them out, they have a few different styles. The one I have is a universal one for fuel injection.
