hi. thanks for the complete disassemble. what i am interesed in is the fan noise during idle and under load.

Mine idles at around 80 percent load and I can't hear the device over my air conditioning in my house. My gaming computer is also much louder than this device.

Bought that mini PC a month ago and I must say the fan noise is annoying relative to my old Thinkcenter mini. You can't adjust the fan curve. When the temp goes above 55+ the fan ramp up, due to the nature of the efficiency cores they always run at a low mhz and watching a youtube video for example will get the cpu to boost to 2 GHZ+ which spike the temperature for a couple of second...the whole scenario lead to a fan to constantly ramp up and down due to Chuwi horrible bios. Good value but the thermal solution / design was selected by idiots or never tested.

thank you for this comment. i had the very first ultra tiny box from chuwi, with the micro fan spinning really high. but the problem for me was not the sound of the fan, it was that constantly ramping up and down what you described too. so this new lark box is definitly no computer for me. actual it costs just 147 €, this is nearly a steal for motherboard with cpu, ram, ssd, case and OS licence. payed for my passive N100 build significant more. but i dont want such a ramping up again. really dont understand why chuwi is restricting the bios so much.@@hiddenname1008

Hey, Nice Video. I use a larkbox as a host for homeassistant and loving it. Now im thinking about getting another one as a proxmox server with opnsense as a firewall. Did you get the 2.5gbit port working with proxmox?

Yes! Recognized it right away. I've got mine in a proxmox HA cluster and I'm loving it!

you can use handbrakes non local means filtering to improve the video quality. This way you get rid of video noise with little effort.

Do you have any thoughts on how a hardware watchdog could be implemented on this box? Deploying in a spot that's difficult to get to and since the BIOS doesn't support power on after power loss, I'm thinking i might just attach a switchbot button-pusher.

maybe a wake on lan or wake on power with a smart power switch?

What wifi/bluetooth card is that? My bluetooth audio was working find until last night when I decided to update the driver with the latest bluetooth/wifi and graphics driver. And the upgrade basically messed up everything including 0.3~0.5 sec Bluetooth audio latency. I tried to roll back the drivers, but it just didn't help. It also sort of slowed down the overall performance as well. I can see very annoying 0.3~0.5 lag everything.. sigh..

Ooof. I'd have to open it back up and take a look. I may be able to check it out here in a few days.

hi there, how are you doing? do know if this mini PC support NVMe SSD or just NVMe Sata NGFF? I saw the socket M.2 but I`m not sure if is going to accept NVME . Tks

There is no clear data on this. It would not surprise me if it didn't, however, the Ryzen version of this machine does seem to work with NVME. Might need to test it to see...

looks like its ssd only. I bought another similar motherboard and it does not accept nvme with the N100 with it

It actually does accept my SanDisk Pro 512Gb Gen3 PCIE NVME. Read/Write is not great though, but thats prolly because of the N100 limitation to 1 PCIE lane.

Hey Ernesto, Does it have a SATA or eSATA port?
@AirborneErnesto1
@AirborneErnesto1 3 ай бұрын
It only has the m.2 slots... i suppose you could convert that slot to a sata port, but you would run into not having space to put it, internally. Thanks for the question!

It's soldered on. Most of these mini PCs don't have changeable RAM
