One either lives for the Lord, and hears his voice saying forgiveness, or one listens to the devil's voice saying, kill him, kill him, hurt him, beat him, kill him, but the Lord Jesus says KILL NOT!!! Let me handle it in my time!!

Very honest reaction! I think every society has it 10% who are lunatics. Sociopaths, Psychopaths, criminals, people always angry etc. it explains why every family has the crazy Uncle or something.

Consequences and forgiveness are separate things: we must do both, and this happened in this case. Jesus said "if you hate your brother, you are a murderer". I believe that with all my heart. If you hold hate in your heart, you are guilty of the same crime as a murderer in the eyes of God, because He looks at the heart and mind of man. Forgiveness is key. This may have been the very first time that young man had ever experienced love. Retribution does nothing but harden our hearts even more; it makes us bitter. So she's right, it doesn't solve anything. In fact, it makes it all worse. I hope this kid can be rehabilitated, with the right kind of influence and direction. What he did was evil. There's no question about that. He took a precious life. And, I truly believe that people can change. I've seen it with my own eyes. This is what I hope for him. God bless this woman.

We are not here to apply sin over sin. Love the sinner, hate the sin. Revenge is animosity, leading to pride; which is a sin, and anger, hatred, non-forgivness and more sin. Let the Lord Jesus handle it;~}

Forgiveness is in the heart. If someone could kill someone else, I hardly think that they are going to care if you forgive them or not. They don't care if your feelings are hurt or what they took from you. I see these victim impact statements and the only thing that I see are people who are more concerned with what those in the court room and those who are on the other end of the camera think about them. Obviously the family is devastated, obviously the family has a right to speak their mind but when they stand at a podium and read a letter filled with cliches and something they heard on tv....I don't buy it. No one can honestly believe that their statement is going to affect someone so heartless that they will take another life. They know the murderer isn't listening or care, so who are they doing it for??? I don't believe this woman... sorry, I just don't. She is just another person who want others to talk about how amazing she is.
