Konami researching interesting myths and stories to modernize in their style for their card game to tell interesting lore and Konami balancing said cards is quite literally the Patrick Star meme where he goes from scientist to dum dum.

Complete facts. The idea of Visas Starfrost being based on the hindu concept of reincarnation is fucking Brilliant. Reminds me a lot of Doctor Who actually. And I really would like to play some of the archetypes. Problem is 2 of them are like aight, and the other 2 feature Konami's new concept of only one player playing the fucking game.

So the lore here is very interesting - the Tear stands for the Tears it makes players cry and the Lament is players lamenting that these cards were printed.

thanks, this whole time I thought it was supposed to be a pun on tear and element because they seemed like water elemental spirits or whatever, but having the extra syllable there makes it more clear I was wrong

Well, sort of but to be more precise, It's ティアラメンツ (Tiaramentsu) where the ティア is "Tear" and the ラメンツ is "laments" but if you combine the end of ティア with the ラ at the beginning of ラメンツ, you get ティアラ (Tiara).

I think it'll be condensed down to at most 8. We have effect, Fusion, Synchro, Link, and XYZ Visas. Still need Ritual and 2 Pendulum (if I'm not mistaken). Alternatively, they won't do Rituals and Pendulums and just make upgraded versions of him later.
