In my case I didn't decide to. I just had no idea the paraglider would be back. XD I just kept getting sidetracked in stuff I wanted to do I spent the first 20? Hours without it cuz I didn't follow the main quest nor did I realize it was needed to enjoy the stuff

I heard from a mate about them shortly after getting the game and researched about them. One look is all that was needed for me to say NOPE, THESE ARE WORSE THAN GUARDIANS! Back when i first found out, I was surprised I hadn't encountered one...that was until the following play session when I saw one from a distance and was like 'nope not today' and went away. Same can be said for the depths, went in there to follow Robbie, encountered the gloom enemies and ran back to the lightroot for safety. Not going back until I have more hearts, that's for sure but I'm literally leaving Robbie to his doom 😂😂

4:20 There are genuinely so many ways to beat flux constructs, you can use bomb arrows, ascend, ultrahand, recall and probably way more

Wow you completing the shrine without the paraglider was truly incredible. Makes me think there will be some kind of paraglider-less runs out there. Not sure if that’s possible! But makes you wonder! I’m sure the devs never saw something like that coming

It felt so weird without the paraglider. Gloom hands and Gleeoks are terrifying, I dropped in on one in the Colosseum after only seeing them from a distance... I quickly ran away.

I tried to fight the gleeok straight off the tutorial and found a strat that 100% would have worked but i didnt have enough arrows or dazzlefruits and ive never been more sad

Doing that shrine without the paraglider was the most skilled thing I've ever seen... I went there without the paraglider when I first played and I gave up VERY quickly hahaha

You're in luck! SmallAnt did a challenge run where he beat the game without equippable weapons, and apple yeetage was a viable strategy for a good chunk of it.

ive watched hours and hours of vods of people playing this game (second monitory while i myself was playing) and ive never seen anything as hilarious and creative and interesting and hype in this game in such a short amount of time, in the very start of a playthrough, no less. amazing video, looking forward to the next one :)

9:08 this makes me wish that there was a quest to get food supplies to a settlement that’s in trouble! You could carry some chickens and some crates of food, maybe even get ambushed like in twilight princess during the cart chase

I know they had to give you the paraglider fairly early, because so much of the traversal requires it. But I think it really helps train you to move and think differently, and I wish that it took the paraglider away from you a lot more. After that initial section of the game, I got a lot lazier and I think it was probably just a bit less... Engaging.

4:20 this moment truly shows how your methods of traversal help with the puzzle solving aspect to this boss. It’s a return to form of a lot of the 2d Zelda’s that blend exploration and puzzle solving with fighting, it’s also something nigh every 3d Zelda before this one lacked (including botw)

I think I had a very similar experience as you pre-paraglider, lmao. Went straight for Kakariko, not realizing Lookout Landing existed. Killed a Lizalfos camp, was feeling good... then the Gloom Spawn appeared. Nightmares ensued. "Oh by the way, your max health is permanently reduced :3" I was so shocked. I did not manage to kill them until I was literally a half hour away from getting the Master Sword. It took me trying to analyze the nearest river to see if I could dive into it that I realized, maybe I was supposed to have the Paraglider by now...

I also tried that same shrine without a paraglider, but stopped because I kept dying trying to get back from launching the ball. If I survived the jump, I swear I would've finished it :D

10:54 HHAHAHA me too I went to the EXACT tower and encountered the EXACT same gloom hands before getting the paraglider, since i wanted to see if i can activate the tower first. The gloom hands are actually nightmare fuel like that night i actually had a nightmare with the gloom hands in it. I remember it was the gloom taking over train stations and would corrupt anyone that it touches and i was on some mission to get rid of it.

You should do a yiga run. Only Yiga armor and weapons, fully upgrade yiga gear, do the side quest to become a yiga blade master, and get all yiga schematics from the yiga bases

I also did a bunch of shrines with no paraglider. I wasn't sure if the paraglider was even in the game at that point. I kept telling my friends I couldn't believe how much harder TOTK shrines were lol

I encountered the gloom hands (gloom spawn) in the same place as Croton did and I'm now scared of them so I always try to look around that there aren't any. I'm paranoid. Also some npc told there are gloom spawn around the castle so I avoided big open areas there, but didn't encounter any
