Tenant is not just my favorite doctor but probably my favorite actor so I cried and screamed with joy when I first saw this. My daughter ask what's wrong daddy and I said daddy's old friend is back lol now she wants to watch it with me. Enjoy the new series.

He will be him obviously but alot about who he was and why he was that way is different now along with the fact he will be different from his time lived since then. He was around... what? 750 when he died as 10? I can't remember. Now he is... between roughly 2 to 3 thousand years old now isn't it? 11 lived past 2000yrs old and then 12 and 13 have been around since then. I don't know how long their time was off the top of my head now 🤔

He was 900 when he last saw Donna, when Capaldi first appeared he was already over 2000 and it's safe that Capaldi has lived for at least a 150 years if the events of Series 9 and 10 are anything to go by most likely more and that is not even counting the confession dial stuff, then there's Jodie who also lived for at least 20 years!

He referenced Donna when he was in his Twelfth regeneration when confronting what to do with how to keep Clara alive when he pulled her out of time. And Thirteen removed memories without flinching just like Donna. They all remembered her. They never bothered to determine a way to extract a Time Lord consciousness safely from Donna's mind so she could have the vast majority of her memories without having to die. The Doctor was able to extract the heart of the TARDIS from Rose without giving her amnesia of all other events. It cost him a regeneration but it could explain a quick regen to the 15th Doctor. Or it could be placed into a Matrix shard. They uploaded the consciousness of Time Lords there. She wouldn't remember him after taking in the Doctor Donna persona but everything before and after he left her at her family home, she would.

Damn, I don't know why I remember his age as 750 when he passed as 10 🤔 in particular I remember the library episode when I do (Rivers first meeting). I kept the confession dial events out for sake of fact it was basically a replay he lived in. Can always be brought up if need be but for sake of this its better to not just say he is a billion+ 😂 So yeah, ok. If its 900 like you said then roughly 3 times his age. I don't remember any particular length of times being mentioned with 12 and 13 for their life spans. 12 had a few mentioned here and there but nothing over all. Like the years he spent with River etc. 13 I have no idea. So yeah, I'd go with your count and just say he is roughly around 3 times his age. It can't be far off give or take.

I quite like the season 8 trailer.

Well, the aliens look pretty uncreative and are kinda poorly added in (at 0:43 you can see the paint in the street weirdly morphing between frames) and Silvia's "He's not there! You can't see him!" joke Is like, weirdly goofy looking at the fact for all she knows, apparently her daughter is about to perish. Then again it doesn't really make too much sense that simply seeing the doctor would kill her, she literally talked to him and didn't care last time we saw her. Plus the CG lighting is just all over the place. Don't get me wrong, I'm really really excited to see David Tennant, Catherine Tate and Russel T Davis back, but I'm just concerned they might still make similar mistakes as other big franchises like Star Wars. Sorry, you dared me

I always think of they do something like that in a script it's to prevent their characters from coming back, but with this return I'm a little hopeful it could be mean she could come back for other anniversary episodes, like other companions.

I would HIGHLY recommend you watch series 9. Its one of the best in the shows run. I was the same, but I went back and watched his run and series 8 really only sets up 12's arc, he's like that on purpose in series 8 but resolves it, he changes so much in series 9 and 10, now he's my favourite Doctor aside from Tennant.

Capaldi's regeneration scene made me so sad you can tell how much he loved being the doctor and he was sad to be going

Oh I was on the fence regarding Capaldi at first as well (i was on the fence about Matt Smith too lol) but Capaldi is probably the best actor I've ever seen play Doctor Who, he is absolutely amazing. The first season is like meh but then it gets better, I wanna say that I haven't been super excited for Doctor Who in a few years because of writing, etc. But I remember watching the Christmas special with Capaldi "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" and having to pause it to crack up laughing. I think if you try to remember that it's "The Doctor" and his adventures...and less about the actor, you learn to appreciate it more overall. I'm just happy there's still a show at this point, and it's not canceled! 🤞

Love Tennant, but always hated Donna. It showed really clearly throughout their run that without him tempering her she's really just an absolutely garbage human being, and more of her is the last thing I'd want. Damn shame about Wilf, though. He would have made it worth the pain.

Would it then be acceptable to try something that I think fans would welcome: go forward with what the Curator said in the 50th about “revisiting old faces”, and give Paul McGann a proper full series.
