From what I've read, she is singing to God. Another MASTER CLASS performance. It's even more impressive, because the EXTRAORDINARY So Hyang was sick here. Prior to this event, she had just been released from the hospital. She was still covering from one of her numerous bouts with pneumonia. Her doctors advised her to not talk, of course not to sing, and to just rest. So Hyang did not want to disappoint the audience If I'm not mistaken, I also read that afterwards, she believed her singing career was over. This performance is proof that her vocal technique is ROCK SOLID.

For this performance she came directly from hospital, recovering from pnemonia and returned there after finished singing. Doctors were against her speaking, furthermore singing but she didn't want to let down the audience so she went. Her arrangement was magical as all of her Immortal Songs performances. Can you believe it? She has suffering with pneumonia when this performance. . But it's true. .!!(She suffered from pneumonia about eight times between 2016 and 2018).. . and she slayed it legendary. . .she is amazing. . !!!

She thought this was the last stage and sang. She was battling acute pneumonia and was dependent on strong antibiotics. That day she was very tired and sick. 소향 Love U!! 💕

I believe the next song you should react to is So Hyang's version of 'Everyone'. Seven minutes of non stop PERFECTION. INSANE vocal stamina. Also, So Hyang's cover of the legendary Whitney's Houston's classic, 'I Have Nothing'. In my opinion, she outdid Whitney. The truth is, EVERY performance by So Hyang is next level GREATNESS!!

Sohyang is the best singer of this era. A singer who sings better than a record! I'm touched. (Sohyang was treating pneumonia at that time)

She is in the top 10 of all time in my book and amongst the best in the world now.

The intro part and first verse is her dialog with God. The behind story to this performance is that it was to be canceled due to her having severe pneumonia at the time. She prayed, took a deep breath and the rest is what you witnessed… During the performance, on some of her face shots, you can clearly see the sheer agony she’s in, so that she can relay her message of comfort to the audiences and later viewers. THX’s, really like ur vibe & reaction to SoHyang! When you said OMG @ start .. had to smile in lieu of backstory. SoHyang had severe pneumonia during this perf. & could barely speak, but left hospital against Dr’s advice for what she may have tght was her last perf. Notice she begins w/ eyes closed in prayer & this cont, as if to say .. no matter what happens “You Raise Me Up” How was she able to do this? Well I believe we witnesse, SoHyang take a leap of faith & thus given a gift to soar! SoHyang all but disappeared bout 2 yrs after due to her health. Good news is she’s much better & oddly her voice is too. ✌️♥️

If you haven't listened to it already you really must react to 'Everyone'....... 7 minutes of vocal perfection! I believe she's singing in Korean but it really doesn't matter, you don't need to know the words to understand the emotion and realise that it is an absolute vocal masterpiece!

In the days leading up to this performance she had been hospitalized with pneomonia which she often suffers,after beating cancer when she was 20 years old. Doctors had forbidden her to sing but she didn't want to disappoint the audience because she NOT sing for fame but for comfort people who are going through difficult times. Imagine if she was 100%. She is a gift from God. 🙏🎧

I’ve watched a lot of Vocal coaches and teachers reactions to Sohyang’s videos and they all said the same things about her abilities, performances, and how connected she gets with the audience. BTW, the man in the audience is Shane Falen, whose group Westlife, covered this song two years after Josh Groban. The composer of the song is Norwegian, and his group sang the original version two years before Josh Groban.

He was invited to this Immortal song episode because Westlife was one of the most beloved pop musicians in Korea. Im in love on So Yang's voice when i first heard her singing Oh Holy Night! She have a trademark tone! You can also react to KZ Tandingan or Katrina Velarde two of the Philippines pride.

So hyang one of my favorite female vocalists. Her performance of “ everyone” is beyond amazing. But I have a request that you react to her closest and best friend, “Park Ki Young”, I prefer Park Ki Young because they have about the same vocal range but Park Ki Young is a tad more versatile and can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz flamenco, and classical ( opera). And her vibrato is a bit more rounder. A few of my favorites that are worthy of reacting to: ( either privately or publicly) “ Nella Fantasia “ ( best best version ever of a Disney-like song. I’ve watched and listened to all the world class vocalists perform this ... none come close. ) “ Goodbye a word that’s too short” ( click 5:08 one she’s in the celestial realm and sustains the last note a long time. An Soul / R& B masterpiece. “wound” ( emotionally impactful 5:57 duration with the blue strobe lighting. Another amazing soulful performance ) “Hit hee Park Ki Young” (one of my favorites 5:18 duration) So hyang” receives a lot more reactors and reactions than Park Ki Young” because of her ability to sing many popular American songs in English which she performs with emotional impact. But please don’t judge a vocalist by the number of requests you receive-altho your fans are usually right. But my singing friends unanimously agree that both So Hyang and Park Ki Young are not only world class vocalists but equal in talent. What I’m trying to say is I believe Park Ki Young deserves far more reactions and I promise you and your subscribers who love So Hyang ( and I am among them) that you won’t be disappointed listening to a Park Ki Young song. Travis, Sohyang personally does the musical arrangements, plus the accompaniments of chorus and orchestra, the costumes and lighting for her stage performances. When you see her perform, everything you see is an expression of her amazing personality. She is a composer, song-writer and author, she lectures on music and voice at University. She is a deeply spiritual Christian and believes that her voice is a gift from God and she dedicates her singing to lifting people's spirits. She has consistently refused recording contracts from international Music corporations. That is why she is not famous. She may be the most flawless singer in the world. Cheers.

Sohyang is my Queen of female singers!!! :) I haven't heard any of all her performances that wasn't mindblowing!

She was incredibly sick when she performed this and the performance was actually to be cancelled. She does all her own arrangements - her skill is second to none. You need to react to Arirang Alone which is her rendition of a Korean folk song. It is also an Imortal Songs performance and there are version with English Subs as the song is obviously sung in Korean. Her skill is other worldly - she has always said her voice is a gift from God which she shares with us. She always leave me feeling emotional - she feels every word she sings and that comes across.

Good as this performance is, Sohyang isn’t actually at her best here. She was actually sick and was told by the doctor not to perform as she was still recovering from her latest bout of pneumonia, but typical of Sohyang, she went ahead not wanting to let anyone down. You should check out her performance of ‘lean on me’, again from the immortal songs series & a very typical example of a very well known song been given the Sohyang treatment when it comes to the arrangement. Michael Bolton was in the audience as a guest, as he too has sung this song, & her performance was such that when the host went to him for his reaction to sohyang’s performance he was literally ‘speechless’. When he regained his composure he went on to say ‘that was spectacular’ & went on to say how she had risen to the role of ‘virtuoso’. He can be seen in the video by mouthing ‘wow’ during her performance. Then a couple of must see’s, ‘Arirang Alone’ & what many regard as her masterpiece ‘Everyone’. Don’t ever be put off watching Sohyang when she’s singing in her native language, even when there are no eng subs because she still has the ability to make you ‘feel’, even when you have no idea what she’s singing about.
