Great video. You were very good relating your purchasing decision to your workflow. You are the first person who came from an older device who didn’t discuss the display being the “best they’d ever seen”. I agree with you about the name and I just go with the year so, MacBook Pro 2020 or 2021 or MacBook Pro/Max 2021.

I miss the touchbar, it was so easy to insert emails. I also had a shortcut to open and close all my work chats.

The more I use this new MBP, the more I realize i used the touch bar for so much data entry. I miss it for sure

Great video. Went from a mid 2012 15" to a 14" 1tb sdd. Absolutely love this machine. Obviously the screen and speed are incredible, however the speakers on this thing has completely surprised me.

I do love the speakers! I thought the speakers on my previous MBP were great, but the new ones are even better!

I went for the 2nd tier too. I got it when it was released and bought at Apple Store. I've been pleased with the MacBook Pro. :)

It is very good approach to focus on a user experience than spec. It is the reason why I watched your video. Do not forget that RAM isn't upgradable, so I would go with 32Gb, or even 64Gb. SD card is funny, iPhone still doesn't have it, but something tells me - it will be changed soon.

So how many hours do you get from 100 to 20% would you say? I just got my MBP and it went from 100 to 20% in 8 hours. Although i realized its probably still indexing and such.

Does anyone think the HDMI port is unnecessary? There are USB C to HDMI cords. Having 2 USB C on the right hand side or one USB A and one USB C would be more user friendly. But yeah, having an actual HDMI port makes it easier to plug in because HDMI to HDMI cables are very common.

I’m loving the HDMI! Whenever I want to connect to the TV, I just reallocate the HDMI that’s plugged into our Apple TV. I would not have minded adding a USB A though.

Do you happen to know if the fan turned on but it was too quiet, or if it didn’t need to be turned on for your workflow? I’m deciding between the pro and air and I was told they’re pretty much the same except screen size, ports and the pro has fans. If it was powerful enough to not need fans for the work you were doing I’d be happy to save a few hundred bucks and get the air :)

I had my ear pressed up to the vents/bottom of the laptop while exporting this video (again 1080p) and could not hear an audible sound (not even a hum). It took about 5 mins to export and I really don't think the fans even kicked on; so, you would probably be happy with the m1 air.

Hey Aleeza, was your previous MBP 15-inch with 512gb of SSD enough or did you find yourself needing more storage at some point?

I probably only used 200-250gb at any given time. I usually work off an external SSD for video editing. And I store high capacity things externally (like photos). 512gb was absolutely sufficient for the entire time I had that laptop (honestly, probably would still be fine now).
