God bless you for using BG3 to show the integrated gpu framerates. So many other reviewers always use first person shooters... of which I have none. I was amazed at the framerates you were getting with the 125H. I just ordered a couple of days ago a Ideapad 5 Pro with the higher 155H processor for my wife. I think I might grab it and play BG3 on it myself.

Nice! The 155h performs better, I tested it recently and have a 185h coming I will also test. The 155h and 185 iGPU will be very close and both outperform the 125h… you will love the 155h laptop 🫡 And yes. Stealing her laptop to play baldurs gate 3 is the right choice. Just blame me if she gets mad, I can take the heat

I had chance to look at an Ideapad Pro 5i at a B&H store. The laptop looks and feels really solid. But the Yoga 7i feels more premium in the midrange. Hopefully, the Intel Meteor Lake will be in the Yoga lineup.

I really appreciate this review, I've been looking at buying a new laptop for the first time in 9 years and I want something that will last, is useful, and can game on it. Im looking at this just in the AMD version (99% battery is my reasoning) and you've basically sold me on it even though this was an Intel review

This Intel and the AMD versions? I like to keep my stuff for as long as I can before having to upgrade again. I've recently bought a tablet and a new phone and this is my last big technology purchase I hope for a long time. And what I mean by that is... I mean I know new devices come out all the time, but do you see this being a laptop that I could be using 5 years from now with not many problems? That type of thing. And I trust your opinion

I bought amd 7840hs model with 32gb ram, still waiting for delivery, excited tho. Added 6gb 3060 nvidia gpu just in case i need it for moderate gaming or data analysis. Hope it doesnt have crazy fan noise 😂

Yes, i have been using it for 2 months and im so happy with the product, not loud fan noise once bios and all other updates installed. Overall very good product 👍

Sorry man, could you try to see a film in some streaming platform using only battery in balanced mode from settings? I have same pc but 14 inch and i have some lag/shutter while using balanced mode, with performance mode works fine

I was about to buy Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro (2023) as my daily driver, but 4 days back I came across a news pointing towards Intel Ultra Series Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro models. So, I chose to wait. This and your upcoming performance test videos will be useful. If possible can you please get the dedicated GPU model reviews as well? Temperatures while gaming looking good. Under 70ºC is amazing for the low end Arc iGPU. How are temps for long periods of gaming?

Wow! Great review as usual. Unfortunately looks like the fan noise is very noticeable right? I hear all the time the fan noise in background when running benchmarks and games... Looks like thinkad e14 and e16 are much quieter.

@@TechGuyBeau Oh wow!! finally Intel manage that thermal problems. Unfortunately it is only available with 16gb of ram, this pro models should be able to configure with 32 and even 64 ram.

hi, ive read somewhere thst the intel arc graphics requires a device with 16gb but with dual channel RAMs, but i noticed most newer lenovo laptop are only having single rams, not dual channel. will this affect the overall graphic performance of arc graphics if you only have the single channel 16gb lpddr5x rams?

i have ordered the yoga slim 7i with ultra 5 125h cpu but only later realize its only having single channel 16gb lpddr5x ram. dual channel ram is not an option on their website either for this model. im concerned if the graphics perf is going to be significantly lower due to not having dual channel memory. hope to hearing your thoughts re this. cheers

To be honest, evo certification means nothing. I’ve had evo laptops with horrendous battery life and those without much better It’s just a marketing ploy. Ignore it

How noticeable is the fan noise? How are the temps? With and without the gpu active. I only found one other video that somewhat covers these. I’m trying to buy something with performance but unsure about getting a gpu because of the temps and noise. I need a quiet performing laptop. I already have a gaming rig so that’s why it’s optional for me. Could you do a video on this? I think many people would greatly appreciate this.

I have a game test video coming out soon. Just recorded it. In the end temps are good and so is performance. Fans are relatively quiet on this non dGPU model. I can’t speak to the 3050/4050 models that drop later though.

Ideapad is all metal and superior in terms of being “premium” e16 is a bit thicker. Both cool well and perform well. E16 are a good price and have thinkpad rugeddness. If you need something rugged get the thinkpad. Otherwise get the Ideapad

What would be the difference between the Ideapad Pro 5 vs Slim 5? Where I'm from, I'm getting both at the same price, with core ultra 7. Difference being slim 5 having OLED and 75Wh battery.

How does the performance compare to a 4050 with an 7840U? Recently bought a gaming laptop for gaming and video editing, and wonder if there is much difference between a dedicated graphic compared to the new Ultra chips

Yes there is still a big gap between a 4050 and the best AMD or Intel have to offer in iGPU. These integrated graphics are amazing, but they aren’t going to live up to a current GEN dedicated offering realistically

Hey, does anyone know if this Laptop comes color calibrated from factory? Can’t find anything but the 100% sRGB but without calibration it’s worthless. On the Yoga Slim 7 ProX (14ARH7, 82TL) it’s even mentioned in the specs. Appreciate any input. Thanks

Yeah but the soldered ram runs really fast (good for iGPU) I’d recommend getting the 32gb for longevity and ram speed

950$ is way too much, you could get a 4050 laptop with that. It's a shame 7840HS thin and lights are few are far between, they still beat this in performance

It’s brand new, and not on sale: these will always have price cuts. Also remember lore of people work want a dGPU. I’d say we start to see discounts on these in the next couple months as usually for Lenovo :)

this is an entire new lineup. they are most definitely not slower. and the cost of this is quite good.

Intel is now more efficient than AMD in video editing/photo editing and also better battery life than AMD.

@Alibaba.Alibabaevich Hp pavilion Plus 14 (68 Wh) with #AMD 7840U has 10 to 11 hours of BATTERY. Hp spectre x360 14 (68 Wh) with #Intel Core ULTRA 7 155H has 14 to 15 hours of BATTERY. 😱 Intel laptops BATTERY life is as good as MacBook M2/M3 even though Intel is using Tiles/Chiplet. Impressive🤯 💪
