I always liked Technics turntables. It was the first turntable I ever purchased back in 1976. I owned two of them over the years, and really enjoyed using them. reliable, great tracking, etc

I use my SP10 mk2 with a Bokrand arm and a SPU Classic EMk2 and it’s perfect. My first table was a Technics Sl-D2 back in the 70’s.

I just got my SL-1200GR2 this week and I'm really enjoying it. The obvious difference visually from the GR is the change from black to silver on several of the parts which I like better. I just wish they had made the head shell silver to match. The torque with the direct drive is nice compared to my TEAC TN-5BB belt drive, but that turntable does have the awesome auto stop/lift. I think if the GR2 had that feature it would be perfect for me. I will say this turntable was very easy to set up, and having checked with an electronic weight scale assures me that the settings are very accurate. I think it's money well spent and not a sacrifice stepping down from the SL-1200G model.

What exactly is a micro-vibration ? Sounds like a marketing term ? Also, I wonder if G2 is in the works for release this fall ? Sadly, no longer made in Japan.
