PinBox 3000 is a kit that lets you build a pinball machine entirely from cardboard. I added the power of micro:bit to incorporate lights, motors, sounds, and a scoreboard. In this video, I go over how I built the game and the story of "Planet Winter."

This is awesome! Im a pinball collector and enthusiast. Basically love playing my machines and fixing them/modding them to my liking. I bought two of the pinbox 3000 kits a few years ago and built an awesome playboard but it was ruined over time and I ended up buying one of their ready made playboards to use in the meantime while designing my bext machine. I need to breakout the pinbox kit again and look into the chipsets you used to run the leds and servos to utilize them in my next machine! Thanks so much for recharging my motivation to create my next pinbox3k playboard!

@@TechnoChic so far, the warning about needing the ball to rest for some time on the metal tape is spot on. I’m going to make very few sensors and each will have a servo to pop it out.

lets say im planning on making a full size machine and would like a scoreboard that offers lets say 3 differnt scores for ex 10,20,and 50. this scoreboard would when the pinball falls between the flippers it clicked a button before returning to the pin, after clicking this button 3 times the score board reset indicating that the game was over. how would i be able to make this happen. if you could help me that would be very much appreciated thanks!!

I’d try a break beam sensor (look for it from adafruit) to sense the ball falling below the flippers. Then program it so that the game is over on the third time it’s triggered. Check it out. Good luck!
