Reviewing the Amazfit GTS 2e smartwatch, one of the most budget-friendly and mini watches launched at CES 2021 - and an 'Essential' remodel of the original GTS 2. I've been testing the Amazfit GTS 2e for over a week so here's my final verdict on the battery life, apps and fitness tracking smarts. Some of the previous generation's features have been slashed for this 2021 smartwatch, such as the music storage and built-in speaker. As a result you get a more budget-friendly price of just £120 in the UK, although you also get some new tools including a temperature sensor. Plus the Amazfit Watch GTS 2e is packed with all of the standard fitness functionality, including heart rate tracking, SPO2 measurement and support for 90 types of exercise.
Some aspects of the Amazfit GTS 2e are less than perfect, including the half-baked notifications support. Plus, the battery life is good but nowhere near that 14 days promised if you use the AOD, heart rate tracking and so on. Still, of all the smartwatches I've reviewed under £200 including the Huawei Watch GT 2e, this is one of my favourites for its gorgeous OLED screen, compact finish and simple UI.
