Unboxing Motorola's Moto G34 5G, a budget smartphone costing just £150 in the UK. You've got a 50MP camera, 6.5-inch LCD screen, stereo speakers and minor gaming smarts - but is the Motorola Moto G34 5G worth that price? Here's a full hands-on review so you can see it for yourself.
Like most budget phones under £200, you've got to accept some compromises. That camera tech is fine for simple everyday photos and basic video capture, but the Motorola G34 struggles in softer light and with subjects that want to move about.
Gaming is also limited thanks to this Moto phone's older Snapdragon chipset. Call of Duty, PubG, etc all run fine, but if you want to get Genshin on the go, upgrade to something with more grunt. Thankfully the Moto G34 5G does boast excellent battery life, although charging is rather slow.
And yes, the LCD screen is an HD+ effort, but it's fine for enjoying some video or browsing your photo collection. But where the Motorola Moto G34 really excels is the audio. You have a headphone jack plus stereo speakers and full Dolby support, so your music will sound lush!

The market for these phones is absolutely fucking massive. People in NA and Europe might be buying expensive Iphones but there are billions of people across Africa South America and Asia that are going to buy low and mid range phones. Arguably this is the most competitive budget range.

Not really. They got tons of issues with bugs and not enough dedication to software updates. I think they should release new G-phones once a year instead of twice and focus a tad more on those phones.

Galaxy a15 is pretty much leading the 200$ and 150$ and equivalent prices. Amoled, bright, strong 5g and lte modems, great battery life, solid performance at the prices, strong camera performance at the price, moto brings?

@@GK-qc5ryUnfortunately only Samsung offers excellent software support in a budget range. Another choice are renewed Pixel 7 series which still remain more updates than new Motorola phones.

To be honest, The 720p resolution screen doesn't look like one unless being said. The 120hz refresh rate compensates for it. I'm using it for the past 8 days.

@@theman4648 720p is totally acceptable considering that your standard 24" inch computer monitor is full 1080p. Let that sink into your mind my dude. Higher resolution would drain the battery faster also which is why they try to keep resolution lower.

I have the moto edge 2022, absolutely love the value moto phones give (144hz amoled screen and 9h of screen on time daily with Bluetooth on). I'd always take a chance on a Motorola 🤙

Another satisfied Edge 2022's owner here and battery life along with Selfie Camera are basically my only complaints. I don't think battery life is bad, just average. About 6/7 hrs SOT. Overnight battery consumption is also pretty high in my opinion. How do you manage to get such high SOT, if I may ask?

@@jihigh482 sure mate, turn off NFC, turn of location services, bare bones anything running in background, leave screen on adaptive and you should get better battery life. I love the 50mp and even the wide angle is good in good light. The selfie cam is a bit mid but that's easily remedied with a quick edit. Hope that helps. Also here maps uses far less juice than Google maps. Proton calendar less battery than the Google variety.

Samsung with a15 5g for $200 and 4 OS updates and 5 years of patches is destroying any Motorola G series phone. And with upgraded 25W charging it doesn't have weak points for this price. While upcoming Moto G Play 2024 arrives with last year Android 13 with only 1 OS update.

To be honest, I Am surprised to see the sd695 in this class range. I know, sd695 is an 'old' soc but it contains two Cortex A78 and 6 A55 cores. Those are the latest iterations of the 70 en 50 series. MediaTek G99 is 2x A76 and 6x A55!

Got my Motorola Edge 40 for just over £200 brand new. So far no concerns. Their near to stock ui is great. Build quality is also very good. Shame that Moto doesn't get much hype as the others.

Use plastic protector so two years later you can sell "G34 in immaculate condition like just out of box". According to Japanese Wabi-sabi thinking, things have to have marks from usage otherwise they look like something not really useful.

That's not bad at all and on previous form give it a couple of months and the price will have dropped by 20 quid, a few months later and Ebay sellers will be punting them out for £100.

Not bad for the money I think 720p is Stoneage in 2024 1080p should be the standard I would take a look at g84 but that's all ready out and its the same processor as the 34 (which doesn't make any sense that g84 is out before the g34 ) that's Motorola for you I want to see what Motorola upper midrange smart phones for 2024 lets hope uncle spurt get loads to unbox😅😅

Nobody tests apps anymore with a 720p screen. Terrible idea to make the overall experience even more faulty than it has to be. Second hand options are superior at a lower price.

Guys, I have this phone and to be honest the only big drawback is the screen because when it's 720P When you put the wallpaper on, it's super blurry, without lying to the others that's on KZfaq, the phone starts to shine no matter how much you turn down the brightness. And the other thing that the screen does not support is black color in the sense that it becomes a blurred color because the screen has a resolution of 720p. And another big thing that I want to share, which is important, is that the screen is not nice and there is an invisible vibration that starts to hurt your eyes and head, at least it's like that with me!!! I'm quite disappointed with the screen because I really like to look at things on social networks and read as well and when reading my eyes start to hurt and when I take pictures they are quite blurry. I will replace it soon...

@@Winamp_ The screen has vibrations, which is harmful to the eyes, visible at a certain angle and light. The phone is not bad, but the screen is quite low class. Quite harmful to the eyes, I do not recommend the phone only because of the screen.

@@Hristian_Stoqnov What you are talking about is either the display refresh rate Hz or you are talking about actual flickering due to either a faulty phone or that you dropped it onto the concrete floor. You cant call this "screen vibrations". Unless you are actually talking about literal vibrations, rofl. You can change the display refresh rate from 60 to 120 hz, it might help. Some apps are not made for 120hz and runs better at 60hz.

The screen is PWM free so it shouldn't hurt the eyes like most of the phones.
