I'm a huge fan of Krysten Ritter and I love her performance as Jessica Jones! Even though I had never heard of JJ before it came on Netflix, she made her become one of my favorite female badasses in both film and television! What I love most about JJ, is that she isn't the typical superhero. She is a flawed, sarcastic, self-loathing, traumatized, and world-weary person with an aggressive, rude and witty attitude! But deep down inside underneath that negative image of herself, she is a decent woman with a caring heart!!

It's like you find The drawings that the elementary schoolers do when they've just started to get into art Like You could've at least found some good fanart Or you could've at least not made fun of it Like I get that they're probably teens on the internet But they worked really fucking hard to get that perfect And you just mocked it

+Victor Kong Honestly, if someone can't take criticism of their work or appreciate the flaws in it as well as the virtues then they probably shouldn't be an aspiring artist. An art school or curator or other esteemed figure in the art world won't sugarcoat obvious problems (like not being able to capture likeness) so why do it? Most of these artworks the only criticism they said was it didn't look anything like the person, which is imperative in a non-abstract portrait. I posted fanart at the age of 12 or 13 because I was proud of it at the time, but I also knew it was far from the best out there. You can't be excessively precious about it, or you'll never improve. I looked at other better artwork to see what skills I lacked.

TheTardisDreamer Your comment is long, but I will reply. This isn't criticism, constructive or otherwise, they're literally making fun of these people because of how "ugly" their works are. I've been an artist all my life, I've done fan art like this when I was younger. If there was Internet back then and someone took my art, broadcasting it on TV to make fun of it, I would've been crushed; humiliated.

I agree. A lot of these artists might be 10 years old, 11, 12. Of course, they will have to learn to take criticism but I don't think that this is constructive criticism. It's really discouraging.

Quite often they are not 11-12 year olds.. but adults that typically get the "your work is amazing!" from friends/family, but haven't had actual criticism that they need to develop. And when you get into round table criticisms in serious art classes, sometimes one might not be too kind with their critique, and your job is to not get defensive or lash back. The art world is tough and often cruel.

It was indeed a very poor thought out section of the show. A) You are asking your guests to laugh and criticise fan art. B) You are asking them to try to guess who they look like which my contraposition means calling those guesses ugly.

I found this interview pairing pretty funny because Ted Danson was in 3 Men And A Baby with Steve Guttenberg and Kristen Ritter played Guttenberg's daughter in Veronica Mars. However, the less we say about Steve's character in Veronica Mars the better! Lol!
