R.I.P. Virgil. My wife and i, along with our special needs niece, who's a huge wrestling fan, met Virgil at a local eatery. He was more than gracious, posed for a pic and signed an autograph for my niece, then joined us for lunch. He made my niece a really happy kid and gave her a memory to last the rest of her life.

I met mike (virgil) at a county fairgrounds in Vermont in the 1990s.He was there taking pictures with people for money. Many didn’t know who he was, but wrestling fans did. I took a picture with him and gave him his $20.I was walking away and he asked me if i was a wrestling fan, i said not really but loved good entertainment.I told him that some of the story lines in the WWF( at the time)were over the top and that’s what made them interesting. I asked him if he wanted a beer and he said “ i shouldn’t but its hot, so ok”. He had his beer and we talked a bit about nothing important i drummed up a little bizz for him while i was there with him and before i left, the man gave me back my $20 . He was super nice with me and hope he is at peace. God rest his soul !!! 🙏🙏🙏

I seen Virgil multiple times in a flea market in Ohio selling autographs. I bought one because he looked so sad and it made me feel terrible for him. He was extremely nice. RIP

When Virgil beat Dibiase for the Million Dollar belt I always thought Virgil could have potentially been a good mid card superstar. Sad it never happened. RIP Mike Jones.

Virgil hitting Ted DiBiase with the Million Dollar Championship was such an iconic moment. That moment inspired countless individuals to stand up to and fight back against their bullies and oppressors.

I was working in a Liquor Store in Springfield IL back in the late 90's and WCW was there. Mike came into the store in his NWO shirt and i yelled Oh SHIT!!! He turned and looked at me and smiled as soon as he realized that was for him. I grabbed a brown paper bag and a pen and ran over to him for his Autograph. He was Extremely Gracious and talked to me and the 2 people in the store, also signing Autographs for them as well. After a few minutes he went to check out with a bottle and I told him Ted paid for it already. He grinned and said 2 Sweet........

I don't know why, but I always liked Virgil. He seemed like a nice guy. RIP

I can’t picture them apart, ever. Whenever I hear Dibiase, Virgil comes to mind and vice versa. Sad news 📰 once again. RIP Virgil!!! Virgil definitely accentuated Dibiase’s WWF Million Dollar Man character ❤.

I will never forget when Virgil and Ted had the title match for the million dollar belt. When Virgil pinned the Million Dollar Man we all were all going crazy. That was just an awesome moment.

You can tell Ted didn't stay in touch with Virgil after their glory years were over. Dibiase was quoted saying once, " Virgil's a guy where the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, you know what I mean." RIP Virgil.

RIP Virgil. I flipping loved him as a kid. At one point, Virgil was not only the leader of the nWo but also a technical genius. Seriously. He came and wrestled at Southampton Guildhall here in the UK in 2001. Not only was he the only person still coming out to the nWo music and in the t-shirt at that point, therefore the de-facto boss, but he also beat British grappling wizard Doug Williams via flatliner/armbreaker takedown into a Fujiwara. What a total legend!!!

RIP Virgil. I got the favorable opportunity to meet you awhile back at Retro Con, Ted. You really are one of the few genuine guys I’ve met and I still have the DVD of The Price of Fame you signed for me, thank you so much brother and I hope you are able to come back to Retro Con in Oaks eventually.

I had the great pleasure of meeting and speaking briefly with Virgil outside the Birch Run Expo Center prior to an in house wrestling show with an independent promoter. Virgil arrived a couple of hours before the show and I never forget what he said to me. "Ya gotta keep moving in order to pay for your bills in life". He was so right. R.I.P. Mike.

If only he could’ve used his social media meatsauce gimmick during his career. I can picture him doing a comedy segment with R Truth at an Olive Garden.

Virgil was really over that summer of 1991. He stayed mostly over. He wasn't great in the ring, but it was always nice to see him on Superstars or losing on Primetime Wrestling.

Virgil's face turn was a huge and memorable moment in my youth, cheering at the top of my lungs for him.

Glad Ted is still alive, he was one of my favourite wrestlers as a kid, I wish I still had the figure with the belt, epic.

Mike lived near my buddy recently and would see him at Walmart and see him at the local Pittsburgh comic con . Always said hello to each other. Kinda cool little story . Virgil was all about that F money ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Rest In Peace sir .

It's a shame these two never reconciled. But that's neither here or there. At the very least, Ted didn't try and sugarcoat his past statements regarding Mike. I find it worse when people try to go back and sugarcoat what they said because of a passing. It's fake. If you have beef with somebody and you don't squash it before they pass. It's too late. That's why you should do it today.

I met Ted and Virgil years back at a car show where I live and I recall Virgil making sure I paid up for the picture and autograph with them and Ted sorta shaking his head about it lol.

Virgil and Ted were a huge part of wrestling history. One of the best feuds and Virgil would be a fun character to have post the angle. R.I.P Virgil.

I remember Virgil when he started wrestling in Memphis as Soultrain Jones,he had a couple of title runs while in Memphis,he held the International title and was in a tag team with Rocky Johnson and held the southern tag team titles.

Ted DiBiase is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. He had this one match with One Man Gang that I still remember to this day. One of the best matches I've ever seen. RIP Virgil. These guys were a big part of my childhood.

This came faster than expected but Ted DiBiase handled that topic with what character he has left.

I was a really young fan when Virgil and Ted had their feud. If they would have pushed Virgil the fans were cheering him, i know i was, i loved seeing him bounce around and get even with the Million Dollar man..but like Ted said, he wasn't a great wrestler and couldn't talk. That made his ceiling pretty low. He still had a better run in the WWF than most wrestlers could dream of, RIP Virgil.

That was a great era to be watching WWF, and Virgil was a memorable part of it.

We got to meet Virgil, at a comic con years ago, my little boys (at the time) were just amazed at him, we took pictures with him and the famous money belt, he was a complete gentleman to my wife and daughter, I was so excited after meeting him, I called my dad (Who has since passed away)... That we got to meet Virgil, and he got so excited about it... now, I know...they both met in heaven... My dad: "Hi, you met my son and his family, now I finally get to meet you."... RIP Virgil, and thank you for being such a gentleman to my family, I will never forget it.

I met Virgil at a autograph signing at the cherry Hill Mall back in 2003 and Virgil very nice guy and it made my day meeting him and talking about the best of his years in pro wrestling and I still remember him winning the million dollar belt at summerslam 1991 and i was very good to see him and he even signed me a autograph signing back in 2003 and that was a good moment for me to see him and virgil came along ways in pro wrestling and he should have been inducted in the wwe hall of Fame because of his work and accomplishments in pro wrestling.

RIP Virgil Wrestling Superstar 😢😢😢 He was always a great lower mid carder in my Hasbro federation. He had a great figure for playability. He used a lot of kicks and chops. Its sad he passed. The net was harsh to him but the way he used to set up his stand anywhere was absolutely cool, he will always be a legend.

when i was a kid i saw dibiase wrestle at the erie civic center in the 80's. it was the first time i saw an event in person. when dibiase came down the isle i looked at my dad and said "that guy is huge, why does he need a bodyguard?" i did realize how big of a guy dibiase was until i saw him in person.

I'm an middle aged guy now but I still remember seeing Dibiase on TV when I was a teenager. I saw Ted Dibiase about 10 years ago when he visited New Zealand. I felt like a kid again. LOL

I met Ted and Virgil at a ComicCon about 10 years ago. Ted has got to be one of the nicest guys i have ever met. I told him i was a Soldier and he was so humble and grateful to me about it. Except it was me who was so humble on how much respect he had. I mean, this waw my childhood bad guy. Such a great bad guy as the million dollar man.

Virgil and Ted were so great together. I remember when Virgil beat Ted for the million dollar belt. I was only 9 at the time but I still remember feeling that all was right in the world and the good guy finally won.

I would always see Virgil at autograph shows...

mike jones was a great dude. i bumped into him at steel con a few years ago. he gave me sweet advice about family. he also shopped at a store that i worked at near his home in PA. all the workers mentioned that he was a good and chill dude. what is cool, every time i see an image of the dude i think of his kindness and his love of his grandchildren. he was always a good man everytime i came across him. seeing him in classic wwf/wwe vidz is fun, because he had his moment to shine.

RIP Virgil/Mike Jones. I read an article after he died and I felt a bit guilty because for a few years it was a freakin' cottage industry of mocking the man and cracking jokes on him but he had a rough last few years. I enjoyed his association with Ted and they were great together.

It seems fans constantly dumped on Jones after he was gone from the spotlight, mostly from the lack in interest in him at conventions. Some seem to forget how over he was during his entire WWF run, esp in 1991 when he turned face leading to more in ring involement and matches. Definitely was instrumental in building the Million $$ Man character. RIP good man

Just want to say RIP Mr. Jones. I had the pleasure of meeting many of the super stars of Wrestling back in the 80's when they did the Omaha Neb. Civic auditorium circuit. Virgil was one of them. I had the chance to meet them with their guard down a little cause I usually got to see them one on one in their hotel room. My encounter with Virgil will always stick in my mind but that's between me and him. It was nice to see someone who looked like me on the cards and I probably have some insite due to my encounter as to why they fell out. Just wish they had walked a mile in each others shoes and they would have realized they both bled to get to where they did. And yes most of them were much larger in real life.

"Montreal's Forum", a long time ago, me and a friend were waiting at the side to see wrestlers entering the place. After Typhoon, Virgil crossed the street and, despite being an heel, he shaked hands with people around. This felt different for the teenager I was. And when he won the "Million Dollar Belt" later, it became a sign that "the World worths better than 'a price' "; it created an Ultimate expression for me that the world has a place for the heart, families, everyone... You were one of the greatest heel, Dibiase, and Virgil became a great expression of good through your character; the WWF should have kept this rivalry forever; it would have given people the feeling that it matters.
