The wrestling territory in Omaha was owned by Joe Dusek from the 1950s to at least the 1970s. He affiliated with the AWA in the early 1960s but ran his own TV and has his own local titles until maybe some point in the early 1970s when it became booked as a normal AWA town. Ted's father at times worked for the AWA in Omaha. For sure in 1967-1968. He even had a title match against Verne Gagne in September 1968 in Omaha.

Wow Ted never wrestled in the AWA

Ted seems like the type Verne Gagne would have liked to eventually replace Nick. Had the AWA still been a power in the late 80s, or early 90s, that could have been a place for Ted, seeing as how the NWA title escaped his grasp. The "what might have been" concept that doesn't often get mentioned because Ted never wrestled there.
