I really would like to send this to the family of Teddy Prender guest. He was the most beautiful singer. He had a wonderful soul and a great person. He sang from his heart he gave from his heart and he would be forever missed. I love you Teddy rest in peace and peace to your family forever Carmel.

One of my dad's favorite artists and then mine. This song pays homage to his life as at that time it came full circle, the highs and the lows. The highs of his career, his family, his love and the lows being the accident, the struggle of life, etc. It touches me deeply. When I first heard the song as a kid I never knew how much it meant to Mr. Pendergrass until I saw the video. The video tells his life story shows his parents, his children, his achievements, him as a baby... Rest in peace Mr. Pendergrass : you will always hold a special place in my heart and my dad's! The first record I put on the Long Player was yours... 🌹 🙏 ❤️ 🌹 ✈️

@@latasha8581 yeah, I don't think he's singing about God. Certain things in the song doesn't seem right to sing to the Lord. It's like that episode of South Park where Cartman was singing actual love songs to God and it just didn't seem right.

If only this video got an HD remastering along with sound. I loved this song. I first heard it on New York Hot Tracks back in 1984 and the video made me teary eyed. I was only 7 at the time I saw this but it was a beautiful song and I never forgotten it.

Such a tragic story as I heard it he was very high and he had a tree and he became paralyzed. If we do not use the proper judgment in our lives and these are things that happen. But that could be anybody but not Teddy pendergrass. He was so gifted that all the women loved him I don't understand it. I also have difficulties and disabilities and if I was him I'd rather be dead than just sitting out of a wheelchair and others helping him. I'd rather go to the good Lord May rest in peace Teddy pendergrass

He had gotten Colon Cancer. The surgery went well. He was released from the hospital and 2 weeks later he was back in the hospital with complications. He had respiratory issues and ended up dying 6 weeks later from Respiratory Failure.
