What people don’t understand is watching him sit there and reconstruct each and every instrument was one amazing experience. Let me put this out there I remember him working on the inspector gadget ref for a few hours until he was satisfied with the way it sound. I’ll even put this out there with Dougie fresh showed up to pick up the track it was awkward I felt like he wasn’t going to get recognition or credit because of the way that Dougie fresh left his apartment. I’ve watch this guy create so many hit songs and didn’t get the credit for it. But yet we never knew that he would become discreet sitting there in his living room day after day after day practicing and doing what he loved.

Teddy's contribution to much of the hit music is unknown to many of us. While most of his collaborators got the lion share of the credit, it is left to wonder how much credit he received (both financial and otherwise). This man should be a household name. Much, much respect to his talent

Here’s a little known fact about Teddy Riley he went to I.S 195 School of the Arts in Harlem and was a musical genius that could play the hell out of the drums. Just a talented young man with a spirit of humbleness. Teddy Riley is one of Harlem’s Sons who we proudly share with the World!!!! New Jack Swing Forever!

I wish his mic was turned up or he spoke a bit louder. My laptop was on 100% volume, but that wasn't enough. I had to use my HDMI cable to link up with my TV and cut the volume up to 50 to hear what this legend was saying 😂😂 All that aside, I HAD to hear what this man had to say. I listened to an interview a few weeks ago and he was talking about how he chose the album cover for MJ's Dangerous. That is one of my FAVORITE album covers of all time! PLEASE make a biopic on this man sometime! I would love to have Babyface do a lengthy interview like this as well!

@lemmieatit most of Rap was based off of Staxx Records, James Brown, Jazz and Mtume samples. Motown records weren't being sampled for breakbeats and ish at the beginning. Motown started to get sampled in the late 80s-90s. But what the people are saying is that even Gladys, Patti, Aretha, Stevie, The Temptations.....hopped on New Jack Swing Beats that became hit records for them during the 80's.

I'm SO happy Teddy defended Bruno Mars not being a copycat of his music. Bruno IS doing New Jack HIS way. And he's doing it big and very well. He's bringing that coveted sound back, and he's paying homage to the greats like Teddy. What I love most is his music will always be played for generations, just like the greats!

48:30-49:50 This is why Teddy was trying to give people a show during the battle, but yall's ungrateful asses dragged him for it. I know what he was trying to do. The battle with Babyface showed me two things: When you try to do more, people don't appreciate it and Teddy Riley is hella underrated. The battle really opened my eyes to how much he brought to music and how versatile his music range and catalog is, just listening to his songs back to back. I already knew how much Babyface brought to the game, but this showed me how underrated Teddy Riley is.
