lol, you really need to listen to more Seventeen. Because, yes ok, the three tracks you have listened to are of a similar vibe, but they really do move around a huge amount musically. SVT are pretty much free to do what they want, [especially now, they are massive] and have generally done their own thing, and that has, more often than not, been out of step with most of the kpop industry. They just released a best of album with 30+ tracks on it [4 of which are new]. Their discography is actually crazy varied.

I'd say I agree to a certain extent with the music being the same in the industry recently however this MV was more to showcase how us as a society we are loosing to AI and how it is even taking over our music and because of this there was a bit at the end where a question pops up right after you paused which asked "who is the real maestro?". Also the fact that most of this song had samples from previous seventeen songs mixed in it like at the start it was their debut title sampled in. and regarding the rest of the album I think you'd like LALALI the hip hop unit song.

Kpop has had " na na na" and "la la la" in their songs since the 90's. no, its not creative but to hate on a song bc it has it, then the whole genre should be criticized. Title tracks are supposed to appease the masses. B-Sides are where it's at where their actual more experimental sounds are.

Always loves your SB19 reactions as an A'tin, but as a Carat this felt a bit saddening to watch. I feel like you just really have not listened or watched much Seventeen to tell what makes them different, and you yourself said you've only listened to three, and the ones you've mentioned have a stronger vibe than their other songs. SVT, out of most groups I've listened to, actually try out the most genres. Their last few comebacks are actually different sounding too, Super and F*ck my Life were two completely genres, and God of Music was more upbeat and bright, this one is also completely different and out of the box with the usual way of composing a song because it felt like different sections stitched into one song.

You really need to check out songs like fear and getting closer. They're more your style of music. The thing with seventeen is they really don't stick to one style of music. Every comeback is different. So if you're looking for something specific, it won't all be for you.

I think its moreso to do with the style of music you express interest in. Right now kpop is moving into its fifth generation with groups such as Riize and BoyNextDoor, whos music, videos and vibes are extremely different to the vidoes you've been reacting too, and representing the current evolutionary trajectory of kpop- also seen in God of Music by svt imo. This is obviously completely understandable as you like what you like, but its interesting to keep in mind that developing genres and styles might just not be to your taste, hence not seeing it.

You know, I appreciate honesty. So thank you Teddy for that.

I understand what you're saying, maybe listening to more Seventeen would make you understand how this is very different from what they're used to doing. I would recommend listening to the hip hop unit's songs, i think they would fit your vibe and what you like. Lalali is the one from this album and has an mv, i think you would like it.

Tbh I agree that in general K-pop comebacks always focus on having a very strong concept and overwhelming ideas in the mv, but I don’t agree that K-pop in general have issues of being boring, maybe sometimes repetitive considering the groups set ups, using catchy words or repetitive words can be agreed on or using scenes like group dancing and individual scenes which kinda a must in a group setup, music itself nowadays is kinda of versions updates from older music, since we reached a position were nothing is original, no matter how the music is arranged it sounds like something from before, no matter how the lyrics is unique it’s still have similarities to another form of writing and music genres are already defined, hiphop, rock, ballad etc

Can I just say, Carats are a very respectful fandom, we appreciate everyone who reacts to Seventeen and even if it’s not to their liking we will suggest something they would like instead because they are that diverse, they have always done music they like and think we carats would love, they don’t follow the “current trends”

Does SVT follow a formula? Yes and no, i'd say. Yes as in since FML they found something which seem to appeal to a broader audience, since they've got a lot of recognition for that mini album. And No because i see it not so much as a formula than creating a style that instantly can be recognized as SVT(a rebranding basically). For example super and god of music are really similar in fashion and might have been so for branding reasons in part. Does Maestro follow that established "formula" or brand, well not quite like in the last two mini albums. Is Maestro some sort of comment about the direction the company might have given? I highly doubt it.

I´M 90% agree with your reaction, the kpop to me it´s pretty damn stuck in the same formula. That´s why many took the "copy agenda" when they see new groups that are debuting with tiny similituds with other successfull groups.

Hey Teddy, i totally understand how you feel about the course. I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed, but the course just felt a bit too common. Even though it is not your favorite, could you please react to more Seventeen in the future?
