For nearly 40 years the Icelandic financial system has featured a unique form of lending - Verðtrygglán - Indexed Linked Loans. In this talk, Jacky will explain how the hidden consequences of these loans, and their long-term impact on Icelandic society. Jacky Mallett is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of Reykjavik, and the author of Threadneedle, the first economic simulation of the Banking System to accurately capture its behavior using double-entry bookkeeping.
