The Warning are three sisters from Monterrey Mexico, Daniela (16) Paulina (14) and Alejandra (12) who just recorded their first original album entitled “21st Century Blood”. In this video they perform their original songs UnMendable, When I’m Alone, and Survive and discuss recording their new album.
The Warning are three young sisters from Mexico trying to win a place in the world of Rock music.
They started playing music at a very young age, inspired by the video game Rock Band, and now they are creating their own music. They are still developing their musical knowledge, studying and practicing every day. Despite all the difficulties on their way they have managed to independently record their first full album without signing with any label. Their fans helped them raise the money they needed to produce their album via Gofundme.com. They hope to inspire other young musicians not to sacrifice the essence of their true sound just to become part of the music business.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I look at the things they are saying when they were this young and I understand how they are becoming so successful now. I was at the Mexico City show on October 28th. Dany and Pau were both tearing up on stage they were so overwhelmed with the adoration they were getting from the audience. These girls are amazingly intelligent, astoundingly talented, and becoming immensely successful and yet still so humble. They are truly old souls. I just love them and their music.

You can tell how hard Pau plays and sings by how out of breath she is when it's her turn to talk - she's a BEAST on the drums! I read that she practices singing while running on a treadmill so that she has the wind to do it while drumming. That's dedication to one's craft!
@MrSudeepdas

She has toned down that high action nowadays. Her movement is more economical in terms of extension of arms but superfast when she gets on with her fills & buildups. She hardly lifts the sticks vertically when going through her rolls on the side toms. Mosty single handerd linear drumming. However I miss this old Pau putting on a show with her exaggerated action & helicoptering ponytail.

OK, I admit I use KZfaq as a distraction from the ordeals of current affairs. I had been watching Dea Matrona a lot, watching them grow, and few days go by without me re-listening to Johnny Winter's arrangement of Fast Life Rider. I liked blues before I liked rock. But I have been aware of TW for about three weeks, and pretty much every day of those three weeks, I have been listening to a new tune of theirs and some of their older stuff. Their propulsive energy is captivating, a swift stream that takes the listener for a white-water ride. Running a quality power trio worked for ZZ Top, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, West, Bruce & Lang, and some other bands (Muse, e.g.). Nobody naps in a trio. The Warning has the right mix. They do not need to be changed, they need only to be heard. The only improvement I could imagine would be turning up the volume on the bass a bit, the better to hear Ale's playing. They have already won a place. Incidentally, I am 72 and had long since given up on Rock as having anything fresh going on, but The Warning is fresh as a spring morning.

Unmendable is such a heavy song - written by 16, 14 & 11 year olds. And the lyrics with its hidden message - unbelievable!!! I hope The Warning play Unmendable, Exterminated, Copper Bullets, Dull Knives, Queen of the Murder Scene, Ugh, Evolve at Wacken next year. I am sure that they will play the last 4. Not sure about the 1st 3 which they wrote so early in their career.

The big money is pop music. They probably wanted to add a vocalist like to you hear on The Vocalist or AGT. Beautiful voices but no style. The same songs on the top 40 radio stations that all sound the same. That goes for the country music of today as well. It's good that they haven't signed onto a major label and sold out.

Watching this 4 years later, and seeing what theyre doing now - Im just so impressed. For the bass player to be TWELVE years old, and showing no signs of nervousness whilst leading into their scripts in front of these unknown people, is incredible. And I love the fact that theyre writing their own stuff, and doing things their way. Im sure they have people helping and guiding them - and those people are doing an amazing job as well. Listening to their newer stuff, theres always some unexpected and interesting element in every song, which makes it captivating - and of course they keep getting better at their craft. I hope they keep growing their fanbase, and I wish them all the best for the future. These things dont come around often. Rock needs more female voices, and these three sisters pack a serious punch. The level of intensity easily rivals that of Halestorm, or The Pretty Reckless. I just hope they arent made to change too much along the way.

So this is maybe my hundredth time watching this video, and it never gets old. So many comments are about Paulina(Pau), the drummer... and YES, She is a full on Musical Prodigy. Period. She starts the song writing process with most of their songs on Piano. She can sing incredibly well. She is very charismatic, and is all of 4'10" tall. She is officially sponsored as a Sabian Cymbal Artist and Vic Firth Drumstick artist. She is called shredder for the amount of sticks she destroys. (watch early in Survive as she breaks a stick and the chunk flies up onto her cymbal. She gets a new stick and a few seconds later she hits that cymbal and the chunk goes flying) But, don't overlook her sisters. Alejandra(Ale), is the youngest Official Spector Bass Artist EVER, and plays piano as well or better than her older sisters, sings beautiful backup vocals and harmonies, and writes some of their best songs and she is still in highschool. Daniela(Dany) handles singing lead and all guitar parts and also plays amazing piano and writes songs, and is mesmerizing on stage live. She is an Official Manson Guitar Artist, Luthier/Rick Toone Guitar artist and both Dany and Ale are Orange Amplifier artists. Not too bad for any band, let alone a band of teenage girls. Oh, and the fact they compose and sing lyrics in their SECOND language, and arrange and produce all their own music. Simply Jaw Dropping Talent, all three!

Why is that happening to the guitar sticks. Does Lars Ulrich from Metallica do that? Have seen how hard he drums. What about Train-Kepta-Rollin' or Toys in the Attic with Joey Kramer? STICK Shredder got to be NORMAL, RIGHT?
@krash66
@krash66 4 жыл бұрын
@@bliz78obrien1 I played drums for many years. The reason she shreads more sticks than most, is she uses cymbals for rhythm parts rather than hi-hat. They split on the edges of the moving cymbals. The shredding of sticks I would do in three months, she does in three songs. Never seen anything like her. Also, I've seen the drummers you mentioned live. You don't break sticks hitting drums, usually, unless you are constantly hitting the rims... you break.them on cymbal edges.

@@bliz78obrien1 Lars (and Motley Crue's Tommy Lee) both use "Ahead" drumsticks, which aren't breakable wood but made of aerospace-grade aluminum tubing. As a decades-long drummer, I can tell you that many sticks are broken due to a continued, prolonged chipping away of the wood near or just above the center of the stick being used to play the snare drum. Mostly, it happens because, to get a nice explosive CRACK sound, the rim and the head (skin) of the drum are being struck simultaneously. The repeated impact of striking of the rim is what causes the chipping away of the wood, it's weakening and ultimate stick breakage.
