This is what is wrong with people who THINK they know things about nonprofit organizations, the third sector, by "paid" fundraisers. Gees! Of course they are paid...do you work for free? I'm so angry.

She is exactly right. Many none profits have made Hundreds of millions fundraising but we're shut down because they spent $200.000 even though they were able to raise over 200 Millions because of it.

She has over simplified a situation that is more complex than people realize. But people don’t research before they open there mouths or there wallets. So she wants all of this training but that cost. This lady is what’s wrong with people who give and then complain.

She's unrealistic I think. If all of someone's time is put into the non-profit, how will one feed their family? Should their family starve to feed others? Is that the "no matter what" she's talking about.

One word for this lady is, philanthropy is emotional not logical, We all have a life to live and people are getting off Thier shedules to connect surplus to where there is deficiency. I have a good proposal which is very impactful, and it is guarded by compassion and truism

Don't focus on outcomes...focus on the impact of the organization. Building schools, having teachers and materials doesn't guarantee literacy. Donations should follow the impact of an organizations not the administrative costs. If donations could be equated to buying a product would you buy a car that didn't work because the company that produced the car spent a small percentage of the car's purchase price on overhead.

If a nonprofit was under the banner of good , but used to also commit crimes . .th r n how is it good ?!. . If a crook takes and steals others stuff , and gets people they help to steal others property as well, break in and vandalize their home. . .or pretend to help others, then turn around, and resale their property after being evicted. .how is this gokd.? . . This is what two crooks did with a non profit in a senior bldging. . .Diane bunch, and miles thompson.

14:45 Closes with 'If I could end world hunger....' (It's been said that scoundrels often wrap themselves in the flag. Scammers often do so with grandiose and 'virtue-signaling' sentiment.)

Too much focus on the re-branding issue. More focus needs to be placed on outcome measures. Re-brand if necessary pay staff if necessary as long as the outcomes are achieved. There are FAR too many non profits which spend far too much on administration ie: 80-90% with scraps left over for those where the funding should go.
@pablodono7227

Name 1 who does that.. Money is an incentive, the donor gets paid with the result achieved, they shouldn't take care on how u spend your money..

As someone who works at a nonprofit, we get paid minimum wage. Most people in my department make less than a mcdonalds employee. Everyday we deal with the emotional toll of helping the homeless, suicidal, people who's power is shut off in the dead of winter, people who cannot afford to buy their medication. Not giving us a living wage makes it harder for us to handle those stressors. The people I work with should not need to use the services we provide.

Of course people get paid for working for a non profit... you think the cashier at goodwill works there out of the kindness of their heart? They work there for a paycheck like anyone else. Non profit is a tax designation, doesn’t have anything to do with their goals or mission. The NFL was a nonprofit until 2015... and yes the players and staff were definitely getting paid 😂

There is so much wrong here.... 8:09 Correlation between formal training of fundraisers and their effectiveness in funds raised. How about 'effectiveness' measured at the supposed end of the non-profit (i.e. the societal good). The aim has morphed to raising the most, from doing the most good.

All non profits should be required to post where the money raised is going. When data is not given, year after year, the non profit should be out of business. This continues year after year in a non-profit in my town. It is fraud!

Ending world hunger is just a pull on the heart strings, that asks for a goal that is unobtainable. All people in impoverished areas of the world, must feed themselves. Its the human way. If they will not help themselves as a community, then help from others will only make them more lazy in mind and body.

@@RokasSkeivys you can spend your life and money if you want to. The only way you could achieve success, is by forcing people that don't want to comply. Even then ,you might put yourself and family in danger. You can't make people do things, just because you think they should do it. But you can try. Good luck.

We're talking about professional fundraisers not employees who work in charitable institutions. Since contributing to a couple of charities last year I now receive on average 7 letters a day. I have a box full of letters, large envelopes of all sorts. I save them till I reach a thousand and hope to do a video to show how much money is wasted. Most seniors on fixed income are fortunate to have $20 a month to donate to a worthwhile organization but it all goes to waste when their name is sold on a mailing list. I hope federal law will soon allow people to opt out of having their name sold on mailing list. They did that with robo calls with great success.
