Closed captions, agendas before meetings, notes after meetings - such simple ways to improve the experience of disabled employees and (currently) abled employees! @Catarina, thank you for taking us through your experience (as a blind and hard-of-hearing person) going to an interview. I didn't realize the extra steps, concerns, and considerations that can be a regular part of a disabled person's day, on top of just living and working.

Thank you for opening our consciousness for what many of us take for granted. Your talk demonstrates that disability does not equal unable. You gave a TEDx talk despite having limited hearing and sight!!! Thank you for showing us what disabled "really" looks like.

A great talk, Catarina! So true that people who are different in some way are actually an asset to society as a whole and not a problem. This growing divisiveness in our world on many fronts is disconcerting and a destructive trend. The fabric of our society should contain all the colours and textures and be a richer fabric overall

In my belief, I fell that we were created to be "incomplete but in a likeness" so that we would find connecting easier, and become as a whole body. Keep up the great work by manifesting awareness to the needs of disabled individuals.

Yay so happy for you. We need to do something about Ableisum in hiring and the work place. Though I must admit the looks of shock and confusion when I walk into a interview, because they responded to the application that I didn't disclose, are pretty funny.

Beautifully said, it is unfortunate that some of the simplest things some of us take for granted are some of the most defining yet nerve wrecking obstacles for others. Thank you for this experience and honor of thinking through staff experiences differently.

One critique: visually impaired people really should stop referring to themselves as “Blind“. Blind is a very specific level of vision loss, which is complete and total loss of vision. If you have 5% of your vision remaining, then you are not totally blind.

this comment is laughable…this woman just explained at length how her severely impaired ability to see affects her life. Further, She explains how this limited ability causes her to be innovative and how that gives her somewhat of an edge over the competition. I have one critique for you…stop telling other people how to refer to themselves or thinking that your opinion should be the standard 💁🏻‍♀️💅
