I totally respect your opinion and enjoyed the video! But if you dive into the 70s and 80s you’ll see how diverse the vocalists really are. For example, Bruce Dickinson vs Rob Halford vs Ozzy vs Dio vs Chuck Schuldiner are all quite different:)!

I grew up with Iron Maiden! :D _Caught Somewhere In Time_ was made at a time when they were introducing more synthesizers to their songs. The solo that comes in when the camera got cut off was played by Adrian Smith, who is my favourite guitarist and always comes up with the most memorable solos. You would like _Alexander the Great._ It is one of their most progressive songs and either hasn't been played live ever, or in a very long time.

If you liked this song, you should listen to the entire album that this song is from (Somewhere in time). IMO all the songs on that album holds the same level, and I always listen to that record as one single experience. I often use it when going to sleep, and this song (the opening song on the album) instantly brings me back in time to when I was a teenager, some 30 years ago :) As for Iron Maiden beeing into demons, I'd say that they primarily are about storytelling. They usually get a hang-up on some historical event, or some mythical event, and makes a song about (Like Aces High, The trooper, Tailgunner, Alexander the Great, The rime of the Ancient mariner, etc) Other Iron Maiden songs sounds very different, but are of course also cool. Personally, I'd consider listening to 22.acacia avenue, Aces High, The rime of the ancient mariner, The number of the beast and Hallowed be thy name first. -and if you want to listen to somthing entirely different that I'm completely absrbed by theese days, try this link :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h7iXkpt_s7a4dGw.html

It's a genre that goes there.. it's a subject matter nothing more nothing less... what astonishes me is she believes in the devil??? It's myth and legend.. stuff of fairy tales.. Iron Maiden tell's stories through song, and no it isn't always about the devil, flight of Icarus obviously isn't about the devil, Revelations obviously isn't about the devil so don't get carried away with that one..

Are there two guitars in this band you're asking... if you listen closely right at the beginning you can tell that the two guitars are playing the melody and one has a different tone than the other you can distinguish the two guitars but you have to pay close attention. oh yeah and what most people call a solo is really a lead and this song has two long leads with two different guitars playing each one

i really like you two and the music you're selecting. i'm not old, but much older than you. i don't try to be preachy, but i like to "help" younger people get a feel for some of this classic music you are discovering. just FYI about Iron Maiden, a couple of the guys in the band (guitarists) long before they put their 1st album out were very fond of a band from England called "Wishbone Ash". That is where they developed their "harmonic twin guitar sound". Give Wishbone a try. not nearly as heavy as Maiden, but rocking it out since about 1969. Start with their 1974 album, "There's the Rub" to 1980's "Just Testing" (Laurie Wisefield guitar period). Not for everybody but most of it is rock solid. their guitar work is second to none. some beautiful songs in there. cheers from canada.

@@soundcreeps5371, cheers for even knowing who Wishbone are. they are definitely an underheard, underrated niche band. the album you speak of probably came from the mid 80's to 2000. (i can't be bothered to look it up) I don't listen to much of them past '82. However , Andy Powell has kept the name and still tours today with different musicians of course. check out any of the "Live Dates" concert dvds from about the '90's(?) to today. they mostly only do earlier '70's and 80's stuff. the sound and the video quality are top notch. it's a lot of fun. cheers

I love this song, and the whole album is great! Here's a suggestion: Have you heard of BABYMETAL? They are a Japanese band consisting of three (at least until recently) young girls and some of the best Metal musicians Japan has to offer. Their genre Kawaii Metal is a combination of Metal and J-Pop. It sounds weird (and it is, to be honest), but they make it work perfectly. And they are phenomenal live band. If you are intrigued and open for something unique and different, please give it a try. This is a song called "Megitsune": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrtja6aK0Nampn0.html. Thank you!

MUST start Maiden with Hallowed Be Thy Name. this song has always been filler for me. Eddie is the mascot they preferred to use him on covers than photos of themselves. there is nothing satanic about Maiden, other songs literally address the "glory of god" and lessons of morality. Maiden is always theatrical and very literal. they basically tell stories based on history, myths, poems, novels, religion, politics, movies (dune and blade runner for examples). 2 lead guitarists originally, now 3 all share solo duties (some awesome solos throughout the years). live shows are pretty epic as they engage the audience and are very energetic and in some cases sound better than studio versions. also, still performing.

Without any lyrical interpretation, it's a great song. This is my favorite album. I did just look up what the meaning is, though. This is what I found. This song was inspired by the 1979 movie Time After Time. In that movie, H.G. Wells pursues a friend who turns out to be Jack The Ripper, and he claims sanctuary in a world of violence which he calls his natural habitat, hence "If I said I'd take you there, would you go, would you be scared?" I don't know if it's true, but it seems to make sense. I have seen the movie, and it's good. Check it out. Many times, like with music, you have to go backward to find good movies.

Heavy Metal artists of the 80s sing all the same? OK, that's absolutely not true, I guess you have to dig more in there. And probably is Tool that makes long compositions like Iron Maiden, they came a bit later... and Eddie is not a demon, he actually slays the Beast more than once. Here Eddie is a character that travels in time probably, as you can see also form the art work of the LP.
