If I were related to the victim, I'd ask the judge for no jail time at all, no trial, in exchange for letting me have 5 minutes alone with that bastard in a back room somewhere. Take him in, take his cuffs off, and have the officers lock the door as they leave and start the timer. That's all I'd need.
