Wonderful video! Thanks Jeremy. :-) One useful tip I _think_ you missed out: choose a track, hold down ^ and mess around with the dials. When you release ^ the dials go straight back to their original settings.

Great Video! You can also temporarily adjust parameters on a sound while holding "shift" during a performance - then when you let go of "shift", it will go right back how you had it.

Hey Jeremy, love your videos man. I was on the fence about picking one of these up but I ordered one after watching your first few walkthrough videos. I've been absolutely loving it so far. Just an idea for you, I'd love to see a video where you revisit one of your OP-1 tracks and recreate it with the OP-Z and give some insight on what worked, what didn't, how you had to approach certain sections, what you could do with one OP that you couldn't do with the other. Thanks for your videos man! Really helpful to the synth novices out there such as myself.

Just a heads up. The performance track sequences midi as well. So if you sequence a hardware synth make sure to map the CC’s and you will have your externaln synths respond to every punch in effect. It’s a game changer imo!

What I've learned is that this is a fantastic piece of machinery and it's absolutely on the list of gear I want to pick up. As someone that's only ever sequenced with a Volca sample and a minilogue this is a bit daunting, but I'm determined to learn how to make the beep boops sound good

@zapzaraponline

I tried using a midi controller for selecting mute groups. This way you are able to make one layerful rich pattern and then just “play” it with the mutegroup controller. Problem is when one changes the pattern, the selected mutegroup does not follow. Maybe TE can incorporate that option into a config file flag, like the one of the parameter lock. Great video btw...

Has the project switch issue you discuss ever resolved in an update? I'm really looking at this device but chaining patterns is very important for the kinds of music I write.

Has anybody found a way to export or otherwise capture photomatic or motion videos without the border/HUD that shows which Roll is being used and the number of each picture being displayed? I have tried screen capture from iphone and quicktime video record on macbook pro with video from iphone via lightning cable. Is there some way broadcast the video from iphone to external monitor via lightning to HDMI that would allow me to record a clean video?

If you prefer to use the touchscreen instead of the encoders, something could be improved in there.. maybe you could suggest them to actually use the full res of that encoders (1024 steps) instead of emulating 24 steps per rotation like in the op-1 which sucks sometimes for musical expression. having to turn a knob 4 times in order to change a parameter feels very very slow..

Thanks for the vid! Great as always. Been kinda intimidated by this expensive crazy Swiss Army knife thing. This definitely inspired me though. Hey and real quick, I have a fix for your project switch hiccup problem. Ive been playing my op-z with the output going into my op-1. Mostly so I can mix, use effects, and utilize the awesome compressor on the op-1 as well. Since you can record external audio straight into the op-1’s tape, you can record a loop and maybe even throw some nitro on top/mess with tape speed (like slow down to half speed to build some tension) while switching projects on the op-z. Thanks again, you’re a hero and a wizard. W I Z A R D H E R O

@@RedMeansRecording Awesome TNX! I think i watched him all :) now, getting mine .... before they raised the price like on OP1 LOL I think it will works as good with XKey AIR (for polyphonic aftertouch) and Akai wireless pads (for pressure sensitive beats). Maybe even send sequence to Akai Force, why not. Literally missing piece of puzzle in the mobile setup it is. Really hope TE will not stop developing the device and synths for it. Cheers!

Play about with the parameters, filters and envelopes and you can have quite a diverse range of sounds out of the synth engines. Learn how to make presets for when you find a sound you like. It isn't the most diverse thing in the world (at least at the moment) but it has enough if you play about with it.
