Excellent, thanks for going over the Mixer, it makes a big difference. At 7:38 it looks like you’re holding multiple keys on the Master track, does that do anything more than holding one key? Couple of cool tape tricks: - you can set note length to Drone for the tape track, so you can select a tape section and let it play while you tweak parameters. Then you can play tape sections while the sequencer is stopped. Fun for ambient. - you can set the tape to pick up the Midi Control Track and record the mic input to the tape buffer. You have to stop the sequencer though so the tape buffer doesn’t overwrite.

Hey RMR! If you select the Master and/or Component (that one with a chip thingy and letter C) track using the Shift in tape track you'll be able to sample microphone input into the tape track. If you pause the playback with something in tape track buffer you'll be able to chop it indefinitely. Hope that helps u (somehow). Love

Thanks for walking through the tape track! I hadn't even used it at all and now I'm excited to spend a bunch of time in there. Do you find the chord function to be limiting in terms of more complicated harmony? I tend to write songs that move between key centers or borrow chords from another key, and I've run into some issues with the track playing wonky notes. Thanks for making all of these videos though! As a synth/sequencer newbie it helps out a ton.

Oh my god that sounds so cool That's a shame it's only compatible with iOS devices but it still looks really fun without a screen. I think I need to put my hands on this little thing haha

Hello. In changing chord mode it looks like you are pressing not one key note but the keys to a chord....but you only need to press one key...isnt so??? Thanks

Hello, my tape track animation doesn't move like yours. It just moves continuously clockwise. All my midi controls are checked. How do you do it?

Not sure if I missed it or not, but is it possible to make the filter in the master track apply only to certain tracks? Tried turning tracks on and off with shift like on the tape track, but still seems to effect all tracks...

Yup. It sure is. I think if you hit the shift button you can select the tracks you want it to affect.

Red Means Recording I did try this, but the filter still impacted all tracks. I’ll try again today. I even tried toggling the master track on and off using shift. I’ll see how I go trying again.

Doesn’t seem to be working for me. Tried again, but no matter what I turn on and off with the shift key held, the filter effects all tracks :-(

thanks jeremy. trying to figure out why i can't play the master track transpositions live. i can step record them in but not play them like you... wtf! anyhoo, also, kinda funny you added the knobs but still turn them as if they had not knobs.

Hey Jeremy, I'm a new opz owner and can't seem to wrap my head around muting Fx Tracks. I was under the impression you could mute whole fx tracks with mute groups in the mixer page. That doesn't work for me. The only way I can get the effects to turn off is with function while in fx track. Thanks

@@RedMeansRecording thanks for the response. So you are able to send say the kick to fx track 1 and hear it. Then mute fx track 1 in mixer page and the effect goes away? Not just the sequenced trigs?

When i try this on my FW 1.1.23 it just transposes all notes to the key of the lowest note i am holding, please correct me if i am wrong.

The tape track is still the one thing I just never seem to touch on my Z. It's cool but I just never seem to find practical uses for it.

@@MattGreerMusic I felt the same way! However, I would take out the first for tracks (drums fx) and sometimes mess around with 1 or some of the synth tracks. Its a TON of fun when performing or recording an improv, which I have started to do a lot on IG and FB live :) Link with me on IG @K_AL

why not using only the ipad? isn't there an app that does the same?

Bruno Ferreira yes there are plenty of apps that have a lot of features. However your already talking about a 500$ ipad and a lot of people dont actually use one as a screen. There is also a certain kind of workflow and inspiration that comes from using the opz that you may not get with an app.
