you guys can also make a big cup for your fursuit and put a fan inside and a lid that can slide off and back on, when u "drink" it you feel the air

I'm gonna be honest, I'm not a furry (but I don't hate the community or anything). However! This tutorial was actually very informative for more than just fursuits since it covers the basics. As someone who wears sci fi style suits of armor and helmets with almost no breathing holes or air flow, finding a good fan, knowing how to wire it all up and everything else has been greatly beneficial. Thank you for the tutorial, I look forward to watching the soldering one next.

I'm researching into how to create a video game character costume and needed a simple tutorial on how to install a fan (or really any ventilation). I stumbled upon your video and have to say it's tremendously helpful. Thanks for explaining everything in a simple, concise manner. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch the next video. I forgot we had a soldering iron! Time to melt stuff!

Really glad it's been helpful! I try and keep things as simple as I can without putting people at risk of doing something silly! What character are you making?

Have a search on Ebay or Amazon for a "spst switch". Any switch will do but this is the ideal one for you.

Hello! I’m planning on making a Partial Fursuit, although I have no Idea how to actually put the fan Into the head.. Do I just attach the fan with same tape inside the head or will that not fit?? I’m clueless. 😅

Well have a think about the airflow and where you want to move the air from / to. More than that I'm a big advocate for hot glue!

I have a problem, instead of a battery pack, I’m using a rechargeable power pack with USB ports, and I’m not sure what to attach the wires that will run from the fan in the muzzle to the power pack to so it will be compatible compatible. The more widely available the solution the better, as I currently live in Dubai where good quality electronic parts aren’t the easiest to find. Also wondering where the best place in the head to put the power pack (currently going for the back of my neck).

Hi there! I used to travel in the middle east so can understand your difficulty! My recommendation would be to use a USB power pack (5v) and use a 12v fan and just accept it'll run at a lower speed. If you want to be really sneaky you could try opening up the pack, sometimes they contain cells that combine to make more than 5v and then are stepped down. If you can tap into the batteries behind the regulator then you might be able to get more juice. Another option (proceed with caution here) would be to string two packs together in series to make 10v. However charging circuits inside USB packs can be a little weird sometimes.

How would you wire up more than one though? I wanted to have one under each ear or would this be too complicated to do?
@TheMariday
@TheMariday Жыл бұрын
Easy peasy! Just wire each fan in paralell. So connect each fans black lead to every other black lead and the same for the red!

Hot glue is usually a good contender. But this is down to how your suit is constructed.
