"Uji," composed in 1240, is one fascicle of great master Eihei Dogen's extended work, The Kana Shobogenzo or Treasury of the True Dharma Eye. You may read a translation of "Uji" here.

In addition to the suggestions to read very slowly I would ask add the suggestion to listen to this over and over which would be the equivalent of rereading I guess - I have listened several times and each time I come a little closer to what you are trying to communicate to us. (Or so I think…) There is marvelous feeling and real pithiness to your teaching. It quietly penetrates….

While time is flowing, our mind is afraid that time is running quickly away from us. Could it be that time is just as quickly running toward us, balancing doubt with faith?

That's an interesting idea. However, I'm not sure we can assume that doubt is only limited to the story we tell ourselves about the past or that faith is all about the story we tell ourselves about the future. It's probably better to think of faith, doubt, and practice as a psychological context.
