Acting like the only way to block something is with a hard read is crazy. This game is way more 50/50 than the previous tekkens, so random reads will happen more often

Any character can carry you that far. It's not a high rank. 90% of players at Fujin & below hardly have any clue what they're doing in Tekken. Saying Hwoarang carries you that far is hardly saying anything at all.

King is in a similar category to her i guess and but Alisa doesn't get buffs all the time instead they make her weaker with time. Most people doesn't know how to play against these characters and then complaining but buffing King which is already very strong is a bit stupid idea.

She's had this since TTT2. Pretty sure other characters could also parry throws. Anna is the only one I can remember that could also do this.

Oh boy where do I even begin lol. As you already said, Hwoarang was already a low-mid tier character despite what the average red-purple rank player thinks lol. That said, ANY nerf is kind of unnecessary. Especially when better characters got buffed. The change to df3,4 is actually pretty substantial. There's a big difference that most characters get between 12f and 14f. Some characters, like Law or Jack for example, also have 14 frame throws that are launchers. Ordinarily someone doing that throw as a punish at least still gives you the opportunity to break the throw. Now that throw punish is a guaranteed full combo. The risk now far outweighs the reward. You can argue that now just becomes a part of matchup knowledge and you have to weigh that when playing and fighting certain characters, HOWEVER the problem is that df3,4 is the only real tool Hwoarang has to fight back. Two of his biggest weaknesses are his neutral and his lack of get off me/panic moves. They just nerfed his only one. Okay fine, that's his identity. It sucks, but remember what I just said about neutral? Well let's ask ourselves. What is Hwoarang's best neutral tool? What is the single most important move in his entire kit to start his offense and get that pressure going that's so essential to this identity and makes him the offensive monster everyone believes he is? d3,4 lol. So you nerf the only move he has to help cover one of his biggest weaknesses and ALSO simultaneously nerf the move that makes the character who he is in the first place. These are HUGE nerfs in my personal opinion. You could already get launched if people were ducking d3,4 and you didn't do flappy kicks (RFS f4). But of course, you don't want to ALWAYS use that move. It was already punishable as it was even if you didn't always launch, but now even moreso. Steve, who by the way is one of his worst matchups, got a buffed fc df2 which launches him when he couldn't before. It was one of the few things he had going for him in that matchup lol. I think the idea that "the d3,4 nerf honestly is more of correcting unintended behavior rather than a nerf" is absurd. There was already risk involved. He also got essentially NOTHING to compensate for these nerfs unlike other characters. I could go on and on, but I think this giant wall of text is enough for now.

Think it's more that he is a cool looking character and there's this constant sales pitch that he is carried or consistently top tier but then the people that try take advantage get a rude awakening that he actually requires solid fundamentals and understanding of the game. He is not a beginner friendly character. A scrub killer for those that can't beat button mashers and a scrub killer for people picking him thinking they will get an easy ride to high ranks

I don't know if you're downplaying or just aren't experienced or knowledgeable enough. FF+2 is an advancing mid that you can do out of wavedash and is +12 on hit and +7 on block. That move can ABSOLUTELY do something. It can do a lot. You just aren't thinking enough about how to implement it and are focusing on just the flat frame data of its startup. And once you use it you're so plus that it makes it so that you can't sidestep his throws anymore. He lost tracking on some throws but now this enforces the mixup so you can't just step the throws, but ducking is obviously also scary for obvious reasons. And he has so many options lol. Trust me the top King players WILL be using that move.

we will see even, so losing crouch status on wavedash isn't worth the easier input, also kings 11 frame 1+2 break being minus now hurts, just sad no more major changes for rest of the year.

I don't hate him but I do think he was already pretty solid and did not need buffs of this caliber. There are characters who were weaker than him that got a lot less lol.
