I don’t mind comedic endings if they’re done well and fit the character, but it felt like such a slap in the face to go from Eddy’s emotional, beautifully drawn ending in TTT2 directly to him being utterly disrespected by Lucky Chloe in T7.

To everyone who keeps asking for the relationship between Eddy and Christie, they are NOT blood related. Eddy was framed for the killing of his parents (Kazuya admitted he was responsible much later). He was sent to jail and that's where he learned Capoeira. He learned it from an old man who is Christie's grandfather. Eddy taught capoeira to Chrisite and she began mastering it as little as 2 years. They have been together like a small family but not blood related. I'm hoping Tekken 8 brings these 2 back together. But I understand her grandfather was the factor that united the 2, but nownhe is gone. I may be wrong, but I dont know why people keep saying he's her uncle. Please provide a source.

Now that I think about it, Kristie’s grandpa would’ve been a great addition to Tekken 1 and 2, ‘cause it would’ve been a nice build up for the 20 years later thing in Tekken 3, introducing Eddy, then Christie in T4. He would’ve been at his prime in Tekken 1 and 2 on top of that.

The problem with Tekken nowadays, is that they're trying to be serious, while being absolutely ridiculous and it makes the games seem like a bit of a disjointed mess. The older Tekken games had moments of ridiculousness, but for the most part maintained a serious tone. Just look at the endings for Tekken 7. Some of them are ridiculously stupid, and it doesn't fit a game, whose setting is a world embroiled in World War 3.
