You know how in the 4Kids dub, Chopper's transformations are called "X Boost" instead of "X Point"? I think I have a theory for why that change was made. In Japanese One Piece media, "Point" is written with the kanji "Kyōka" (強化) which means "Enhancement"/"Strengthening", so the localizers probably looked at that and thought they'd instead use a word that meant the same as that but just with one syllable like "Point" (ポイント), hence "Boost".

Luffy's voice in the Funimation dub is really not that bad. Colleen Clinkenbeard is a great voice actor. She also voiced Erza, my favorite character in Fairy Tail. Being able to voice both a goofy kid like Luffy and a strong woman like Erza is pretty impressive in my opinion.

I think they used dodgeball instead of reindeer games because dodgeball is a sport most commonly associated with the cool kids bullying the uncool kids at school. The joke is that Chopper was such an outcast the other reindeer didn’t even want to bother with him in any way, not even bullying.

Has anyone told you how much you sound like Abridged Kaiba when you do a certain voice? 1:25:12 I've always liked Coleen as Luffy, especially any screaming or yelling in a fight. I didn't have a problem until after the time skip, when she slightly deepened her voice to sound older. I didn't notice it much in Stampede, though, so maybe it's gotten better.

It took me awhile to get used to Chopper’s Human/monster form voice in Funimation. It’s like when in Punk Hazard they all switch bodies and so did their voice, which shouldn’t make since, even in One Piece standard.

It's just the sheer butchering of the scene. The whole point of Doctor H not refusing Chopper is that he sees how horribly mutilated Chopper is and he tries to refuse him, then Chopper quietly rebuffs himself which inspires the Doctor to give up his life for this boy. He tries to tell him that he got the wrong mushroom but can't bring himself to do it in the end.

I love the opening theme song, best thing the 4Kids dub ever made, I loved it as a kid, don't understand why so many people hate it.
