Found this Tektronix P5200A probe that was tossed out as dead. Lets see what is wrong with it and can it be fixed!
Turns out, this was not easy to get access into mechanically and its obviously not intended to be worked on.
Hopefully, this video is useful for someone wanting to dig into one of these.
