Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not _the_ solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level.

Already excited to see how your gonna cope with the nordschleife track map :D Really helpful feature though and probably the quickest way to get an rough idea where you loose time, good job! 💪🏻

Had session using this tool last night on Brands Hatch with the 992 setup. Quite quickly learned I was always entering the turns too fast, my slowest point being much deeper in the turn, and hitting later apexs as I had to get rotation in the second half of the turn. Gained approx 0.05 before each new brake point down the straight- which, when looking for the final 0.5s over a full lap is quite hard - mainly due to having completed the rotation earlier, getting on throttle a tenth or so sooner. Now its just to get this habit ingrained after 1200ish hrs of over diving and over driving :P

thanks for introducing this. it's such a time saver for quick lap analysis. before it always took me significant amount of time to find these manually, but now I can see those points instantaneously. now, since you asked about potential new features. 😄 when comparing my laps with a reference lap I keep wondering where my car is facing in corners compared to the reference car. I guess it is possible to get an idea by looking at driving lines and steering inputs, but I suppose it would be useful knowing how much my car is over/under rotating at different points of the corner compared to the reference car. if that makes sense and if that kind of info is available at all. thanks again for adding all those useful features recently.

we'll have to look into it. it should be possible to get car orientation from just the tire positions really, and then replace the circle with a square car symbol for example.
@adpr5278
@adpr5278 8 ай бұрын
@@SimracingPopometer I also imagined it as a line coming out of the circle (perhaps not most esthetically pleasing) but feels like comparing two lines makes it the easiest way of seeing any potential angle in car orientation between compared laps. I guess that would require another circle which may not be the most practical thing. in any case it is already such a well rounded tool for which is not easy to find a further improvement. helps me improve on a daily basis. so thanks for all the hard work.

I think you can kinda see the angle already at least when the differences are big. when they get small then theres just a lot of info in a small place, so it gets crowded there :D we'll see if there's a neat way!

Great explained! i was working on that last days. i find that the key point is to start trail braking sooner. i was hard braking,relying a lot on abs, and then letting off to 20% to keep the front loaded. this really retards the rotation and speed has to go lower for the rotation to be completed. for me now, brake earlier and trail brake more is what im working on. lets see if it pays off bcs im stuck 1-1.5sec off your pace in every track.question: in single late apex corner, the min speed/ max rotation point should be earlier than the apex?

in most examples yes. you're spending more time on the straight, so rather be fast there

it makes the cooling around the other facial areas more efficient by creating a slightly warm patch that accelerates the airflow and creating a vortex in the center. its just an exhaust blown double diffusor really - beginner stuff.

Hi Nils😊 popometer is brilliant.. and have really helped me a lot👍🏼 Can you recommend good setups? they don't have to be free! 💰 I think coach dave setups are crap
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 8 ай бұрын
CDA setups achieve fast laptimes, yet they were so far aiming at serving a wide customer base from skilled to novice, which will likely lead to more neutral to save setups. they have just recently announced to also add the typical "meta" setup approach, that goes for outright laptime. Outside of CDA of course recommending the setups on popometer. not everyone can be a creator on out website, so they are kinda handpicked, which means they have proven themselves to provide good setups and lap times to compare, or also simply good working attitude and being available for support to help their customers with the setups they bought. so anyone selling on popometer is by default a recommendation. depends a bit what car you are in, and if you are unsure just find that creator on our discord, many also put their own discord in the data pack description so you can reach out directly with any question

Can you add the inverse radius?
@SimracingPopometer
@SimracingPopometer 8 ай бұрын
what are you trying to gain from it?
@ianng4633
@ianng4633 8 ай бұрын
@@SimracingPopometer Sometimes the profile of the corners are weird and the closest point to the curb doesn't tell you everything about the rotation apex (e.g. Kyalami and COTA), so having the inverse radius will help with finding the ideal point of rotation and the ideal rate of rotation going into that point of the corner.
