How incredibly unique and innovative, yet also amazingly subtle and coolly performed… can totally see how Television and Tom’s playing style went on to inspire so much… Talking Heads, Sonic Youth - the list is probably almost endless

@@claynovak1251yeah for sure, it’s kind of insane how much you here the sound of late 70s/early 80s bands like Television and bands like The Fall as well in indie/garage type/punk guitar bands from now until back then, undeniably innovative and focal to the development of guitar music as far as I can tell

Television got basically zero air play in my state (OK), so I completely missed them back in the day. What a great band!!!

Reminds me of when we used to go down to the Bowery and Austen City Limits was playing on the television. The waitress, Adriana, was sweet. And sick. Her boss, Manny, wouldn’t let her go home to Jersey to feed her dog. So she had to leave food out and he died quite readily from over feeding.

She would go home so sad and look at her dog on her phone. But show up for Manny and adjust the SmartTV ever night just to get Austin City Limits for the customers.

Talking Heads actually came after Television, who actually helped Hilly Kristal make CBGB what it was. They even helped construct the stage. Talking Heads appeared there some time later, and then took off when they booked SNL and played _Artists Only_ .
