Yes exactly! Being active and mentally occupied plays a huge role in our health. My great grandma lives in rural China with my grandparents, in a village very similar to LiZiQi’s. She is 100, so she is very old and hunched over, but she can still walk around and perform small tasks, especially stoking the fire while my grandparents are cooking. In America, old people can’t even do things anymore by age 80, because their lives are too sedentary and purposeless.

I totally agree! But this kind of life is not easy. You have to work very hard to farm and build things. Many people prefer a soft city life. However, people would be much happier if they lived like this. When you work hard and see the outcomes of your work on the table, you feel happy. Many people nowdays feel depressed because they do meaningless work for a big company and don't feel like they have accomplished anything when they eat and rest. This makes people very sad.

@@shushuyu Apparently she has done that all her life. She is more or less an orphan and had to learn these skill sets at home from childhood. That's what she explained in interviews anyway. Looks like her grandma taught her very very well though. From what I understand she didn't do many studies, so she had the time to learn all these skills instead. Other specific skills, she studied for months specifically to make the videos. But the cooking, she seems to have a gift for that, some recipes she invents herself. Finally, it's all very very hard work.

jadoo dookun it’s nice when they let you. My mom has Alzheimer’s, and it is literally a constant fight to care for her. She never wants to eat, or shower, or any of the other things needed for basic survival. I wish she was a gentle old lady who was loving and appreciative but what can you do.

Its generally still more common in eastern and asian countries. The younger generation strives to do well in life to basically care for the ones getting older. Its beautiful, knowing that by continuing this value, you will also be looked out for when you are older. Not out of obligation but out of respect and honor.

In many Asian countries, it is a taboo if you did not appreciate your seniors. The older you are, the higher your ranks are in many Asian countries. It means that you will have to take care of the people that are older than you. Examples can be like in any Chinese family gathering meals, the eldest initiate the start of the meal when the eldest took their first bite. Another example is when the tea must be poured in the eldest's cup first or it will be against the norms and you will be shamed on. One another example that is outside of China, like in South Korea is that you must turn your face to the side when drinking if you are not the oldest.

I didn't really think she would eat her dog, because it is indeed a stereotype that all chinese eat dogs, so I viewed it from a pespective of dark humor based on old strerotypes. And even if Miss Liziqui prepared dog as a meal I wouldn't judge her. I respect her skills and beautiful craftsmanship, always enjoy watching new uploads

She didn't creat, all what she made are all from the culture where she come from, this is a traditional dish from sichuan province called hotpot wich is so populer in China. They way she showed make it looks really good. (Sorry for my English)

I think both the culture and her are beautiful, since a kid I have been amazed by China's history and culture, in my city, being in Latino América, there has been always a strong Chinese population, with even part of my family being chinese descendants, and I had the luck to see so many cultural events! They even celebrate the Chinese New Year, and most of the city celebrates with them

She is probably freaking out because there is so much unharvested food in the fields and on the trees. Clearly, this snow came much earlier than normal- just as the cold temperatures and snow did, here in the US. This is going to be a very disruptive and harsh winter for everyone in the Northern Hemisphere.

I wish i had an automatic translator for my post so it would post in her native language so she could see the many positive comments and how she is influencing so many to do more for themselves. Our seditary life styles are creatin the disease we fight wit daily. We also need ta go back ta fundamentals in our cookin. Cookin wit joy gives the food a very positive an very nutrious quality.

One main reason I like Ziqi’s videos is that they bring me back the time when I was little being looked after by my grandma in her village, where life was similar to those in the videos. The only difference is that it’s was my grandma looking after me. My grandma passed away more than 20 years ago, I can never return the love to her, but the dearest person and happiest life stay forever in my heart. Li Ziqi has been living a life which is the life of my grandma and I have been living in my heart.
