SUNSHINE FOR THE SOUL - INSPIRATIONAL STORIES

SUNSHINE FOR THE SOUL - INSPIRATIONAL STORIES

3 ай бұрын

President Nelson spoke to us at conference about Temples. He clarified information concerning our Savior Jesus Christ accepting the Temples. Not just Kirtland but ALL Temples. Our lives will be blessed abundantly as we take time to serve in the House of the Lord. We can have information poured into our minds. The Lord will instruct us and reimburse us for the time we invest as we help Gather Isreal on the other side of the veil. Most of the people we act as proxies for, accept the work and are anxious to receive these Ordinances. COME TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. Some have seen the Face of the Lord there, some have seen Angels. Great bedtime Stories. fall to sleep with Brother Merrill's soothing voice, while you feel the Lord's love for you.

Thank you so much for your inspirational stories. I received my win endowment in the Provo Temple 52 years ago. I felt my grandmother there who ad died 2 months before I was born. My husband and I have been ordinance workers in Ogden and are now serving in the new Red Cliffs Temple in St. George. There is no place I would rather be than in the temple. When President Nelson said we will need the guiding and including power of the Holy Ghost to survive coming times of trouble, and President Oaks telling us in conference that we receive a greater portion from the Holy Ghost in the temple, I feel strongly there is more power in the temple than I previously realized. And when we can’t be there we are still under that power by living our temple covenants. Thanks for sharing these tender stories as a witness of that. I, too, add my witness!

The first time I tried genealogy work on my own on the Family Tree app, I believe that I had incredible experiences with the Spirit of Elijah. These people really are so anxious to have their work done! I believe that they know when their names are being prepared for temple work. At times also, they are SO funny! The joyful humor they have is just absolutely transcendental by comparison! When you told that tender moment about your daughter’s manner of telling you about the temple clothes, it was such a confirmation to me that what I’ve experienced is real! You’re helping me so much brother Merrill, thank you so so much for your bravery in sharing these beautiful, wonderful, and sacred things!

I love your lessons, they buoy up my spirit!! I am a convert to the church and both of my parent's passed on a number of years ago. I was living in Utah and the Young Men and Young Women of my ward asked if anyone had any names ready for baptisms as they were going to the Logan Temple. I was so happy that I had quite a number of names ready and quickly volunteered my stash. Then I was privileged to be at the Logan Temple when the baptisms were performed. There was a screen on which the names would appear as the ordinances were being performed but try as I might I could not read the names. I was quite distressed that I could not see well enough to know when my family names were being done and tried to console myself that they "were" being baptized whether I could read the names or not. I continued to stand near the window and watch the screen as though I could see it, and miraculously, first my father's name appeared on the screen and later, my mother's name appeared. Of all of the baptisms performed that day they were the only two names I was able to see on the screen. It was such a tender mercy for me, and I remain grateful to this day that I was able to witness my parent's baptisms that day. I didn't see them that day, but I know they were there!

Those were wonderful stories. While married to my second husband, he lost his closest brother. A few years later, I asked him if my son could do Scott's work. My husband wasn't a member, but he didn't hesitate in saying yes. So my son and I went to the temple to do Scott's work. My husband was a very good looking man, but I've never seen him look more beautiful as he did when I said 'Scott's work is done'. It's from that that I have no doubt that my husband accepted the gospel after he passed away, and my son did his work. I was also able to be sealed to him. What a blessing the temples are in our lives. Thank you for sharing such special experiences.

A German man who lived in Guatemala told me that he used to see (or dream of) his grandfather saying, "Help me, Dieter!", except he didn't know how he could help him, as he had died. Many years later, he joined the church, and took the names of his ancestors to the temple. He told me that he could see a room full of people dressed in shining white, smiling so big that Dieter was there finally, helping them. He died a few weeks after sharing this with me. I'm sure his ancestors met him with open arms on the other side.

Doug Orton was able to find more information about the Jewish Leader that I referred to in the first story: David Ben Zakai, born in Ramla Isreal, 896 died Khorasan, Iran 940. He was an Exilarch leader of the Jewish community in Babylon. He is known in Jewish history for his conflict with Saadia Gaon, which ruptured the Jewish leadership in Babylon. aka; David ha-Nasi of Bali. Here is a Wikipedia link for more information about this man.WOW This guy was a heavy hitter. I just read about him. He was amazing.: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saadia_Gaon

Thank you for sharing these beautiful stories. When I worked as an ordinance worker, one day I was acting proxy for some sealings. I faced the sealer, and behind him was a large panel of stained glass. Suddenly I heard the door open behind me. Since we were in the middle of an ordinance, I didn't turn around, but thought it strange that someone had entered the room during the sealing, as this wasn't normally permitted. I felt the couple walk around behind me, and as I looked at the sealer, I could see them reflected in the glass panel behind him. They took their seats and we continued. When the ordinances were complete, I turned around to see who had come in. There was no one there. Puzzled, I asked the other people in the room what happened to the couple who had come in. No one else in the room had seen anyone. I have felt the presence of people before and since that, but that is the only time I know of that I actually saw them.
