if the condyle on one side displaces anteriorly, does that mean that the symphysis menti then moves to the contralateral side upon jaw lowering?

If we start from the temporal bone can we say first there is mandibular fossa then articular disc and then the condyle,does it mean articular disc is between the fossa and condyle ?
