We want to hear about your experience with Temptations cat treats! Have you given your cat these treats, and how did they respond to them? Personally, I've given my kitties these treats (sparingly) for years and have found them to be an effective, albeit not that nutritious, way to keep them motivated and encourage them to follow commands. Please leave your experience in the comments!

My cat tiger was on death's door. She would not eat any of her food for days. Not wet or dry. I started just feeding her temptations treats which she accepted, and it just gave her enough sustenance to get back in the fight. She's alive and well today.

When our one little kitty got very sick, she would not eat anything. She just started wasting away and the doctor put her on supplements and that didn't even help. Then we discovered how much she loved Temptations. She would eat them morning, noon and night and never got tired of them. They actually started putting some weight on her. So that is the diet we stuck with. It gave her two more years and for that we were happy. Also, thank you for your informative videos. I really appreciate them.

Oh my God, I can't even TOUCH that bag. My cats love them - they pick the bag up like raccoons and dump it, if I don't watch where it put it. I won't even buy the tub anymore because the sound of the bag is a motivator.

I am a cat sitter. I have taken care of hundreds of cats. From my experience 95% of cats absolutely love Temptations. Some don’t, but it’s rare. I have never experienced problems with Temptation, occasionally some cats, if they eat too many, will have diarrhea. Also very rare, but really the only problem i have observed over the years. On the other hand Temptation are often very helpful with senior cats, or cats who don’t want to eat for any reason. It’s obviously not an ideal food, but it helps to start them up and put at least something in the system. Pro tip, pills can be hidden in the soft part of the treats and than covered with the crust again.😉

My favorite cat who passed from cancer 5 years ago lived on temptations the last few months of his life. I bought any foods I thought he'd eat but they were his fave and I'm grateful they sustained him until it was time to cross the rainbow bridge.

I used to feed them to my cats until I discovered freeze-dried treats. They love those so much more and they’re definitely a better option.

I used to give my male cat Temptations until I read those reviews and someone called them junk food for cats, which is a term I never forgot. He loved them though. Now he and my other cat get Blue Buffalo Bursts sometimes, which are basically the same type of treat. The ingredients start with deboned chicken though, which makes me feel better about them. I really don’t give them out very often though. Both cats love them. I also tried other healthier treats that sit in the bowl untouched.

my cat loves temptations. I only give them as a treat now and then not daily. any time she hears anything that sounds like the temptations bag she comes running! she has learned that sometimes it is not her treats and still purrs and snuggles. Recently I saw my buddy's cat barfed gross vomit 15 minutes after eating temptations. Another friend's cat refused to eat normal cat food opting for only temptations his cat was clearly looking like hell from eating them. If I want to give my cat a treat he gets excited about real meat. And he always loves his cat food meals so no need for extra carbs. Better quality food makes a difference.

I've given temptations cat treats to many cats at the local animal shelter; some of them get REALLY excited, others are like "oh cool, a treat!", and occasionally we find a cat who doesn't really care for the treats. My cat is the type who goes crazy for these treats, but he's very food-motivated in general 😹

We termed these treats "kitty crack" because our cat would not rest until he received Temptations Treats. His life seemed to revolve around getting us to feeding him treats. We finally had to ween him off the treats ... which wasn't easy! Now, years later, we have two kitty sisters, one of whom is a picky eater. I often think about trying the treats with our new cats, but frankly, I'm hesitant to relive our first experience with Temptations Treats.

I use them with my cat to train hard commands (panic/anxiety alert, socialization, going outside) and "healthy but less tasty" treats when he learns the command up until i completely wean him off for the specific command. Great video! Very much enjoy these educational cat videos!

My senior cat went absolutely nuts for these. So much I once accidentally left the bag out on a table overnight, she wrecked it and inhaled half of it. Absolute bag massacre over my floor, haha. She got to be a healthy 16,5 years old. My current cat also loves these treats. I sometimes use them to get her home or out of a tree by shaking the bag and then putting them in a puzzle. I’ve never seen them get sick over these. But will definitely look into other treats now. They’re called Dreamies here.

My cat Sushi loves them. The only other cat treats she will touch is the greenies for cats, and the Sheba meat sticks. She will only eat the Sheba or greenies every once in a while though, but she always goes for the temptations. My vet told me that the temptations are just catfood basically, so it is fine for her. I guess I will try to get her to eat something else though, like those fish flakes. She is spoiled though, she only likes certain things. Although, if they ever come out with a lizard or cicada flavored catfood , she will be first in line. I hope wessy is doing ok.

I really appreciate the and professionalism that mallory puts into these videos. I'm a first time cat owner. And before i adopted my cat I spent hours researching items to 'catify' my home. Most of what I purchased are things that she reviewed. I had a hard time finding a treat for my cat, and temptations weren't her favorite. I found out about bonito flakes from her reviews and my cat loves them!

I don't think they're poison but I do feel they aggravate Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC) in my cat. He had crystals in bladder, we went full prescription wet and special dry food. He was clear for almost a year but then someone gave us another bag of temptations and it only took 2 to make him stop urinating again which is a sign of impending bladder problems. I also agree it's kitty crack :)

I took in a stray cat 3 weeks ago and bought these, they aren't very healthy but is has helped bring him out of his shell. I use them to lead him around the room and get closer to us etc. Once he is more confident, won't buy them again however but for now they are working. He will do a lot of brave things for these treats.

My cats love these treats. I have had a positive experience with them. I tried more expensive treats and the cats would not eat them. They really like the Temptations.

I give them to my cat. Have given them to 3 cats over the past few years. They love them. Never any health issues with my cats.

My cats don't like any other treats! They hate the healthy ones, and I've tried them all. My cats hate every kind of wet food, barely any dry food. I'm thrilled when they eat anything...my spoiled brats. Love them!

This is actually the first time I've heard of Temptations being possibly linked to things like renal failure. My kitty is twelve now and basically lives on these. They may not be the healthiest choice, but they are nutritionally complete. She is a small cat and doesn't eat much, so I'm not bothered too much with the price compared to regular cat food. One thing I really love is the large variety of flavors they have. I cycle through them to try to prevent her palette from getting bored with the same taste constantly. After every bag I change to a different flavor. And they finally started to sell bigger 48oz bags, albeit with only like three of the flavors and none of the jumbos. She does eat some other stuff as well though. Every day when I get home from work I give her a bit of canned food, something with cuts of meat. But she eats literally like four or five bites and leaves it. She also eats the odd mouse or chipmunk that she catches outside. I don't like it, and prevent her from eating her prey when I see it. But there isn't much I can do to stop her when she's out of sight. I would estimate her diet to be maybe 80% Temptations, 15% canned meats, and 5% mice and etc. Anyways, she is a perfectly healthy, very active, and wonderful little kitty. She has never had any diet related problems or really any problems beyond physical things like scratches and whatnot. She doesn't even throw up, like at all. I have seen her throw up (or seen evidence of) maybe two or three times in her entire life. I'm glad that I am now aware that there is talk about Temptations possibly being harmful. And I will continue to follow the topic. But personally, I think I'm going to keep her diet the same. She would hate me for taking her favorite food away too. Oh, and she hates Temptation's Meaty Bites and Puree. She won't touch them.

I had no clue. Thank you for the information. I do not use any treat exclusively. Though, I need a hard treat as I use them for exercise on stairs before meals. I find this one is loved as much as any other by my ladies

First of all Mallory you are adorable. Thank you for doing this segment. My cat has been vomiting nearly on a daily basis for a while now and was losing weight because of it. I saw this clip and stopped giving him Temptations and within two days he stopped vomiting entirely! Thank you from my cat and me!

I do give my cat Temptation treats but sparingly. I never heard of any of the claims mentioned but then again, I use it as a treat not meal replacement. I give my cat way less than serving size recommended on package anyway. Thanks so much for sharing your insught. Be well.

I have used them before, but sparingly. Sophie and Autumn love them. Grace not so much, she has health issues anyway.

We had an orange tabby whose treat of choice was something called "Good Girl Milk Drops". Could be hard to find, so we'd get as much as we could when we found 'em. Oh....the girl was just CRAAZY for them! :) Temptations we used to keep in the bathrooms, so any time we headed in the direction of one, our grey tabby would bolt ahead of us with hope in his heat ;) We've two cats who catch the treats in mid air, in their mouths and sometimes paws. Only way we can get afore-mentioned grey tabby to have his blood pressure medicine is on Tempiations!

Big fan of them in our house! I have two large male ragdolls and they get quite a few of these every day and I use it almost as entertainment for them . I scatter them like Easter eggs and they delight in finding them. They have not really liked any other brands of treats and one of my cats is sensitive to corn gluten meal but not just regular cornmeal which is what is in temptation so there’s no issue with tummy trouble. I definitely want to try bonito flakes as an option and I have not tried those yet.

I've replaced temptations with greenies because they are good for my cats teeth and she seems to like them just as much

I just moved to another country and my kitty is trying to adjust to all the changes in diet, cat litter, cold floors ( she is a Dominican Republic cat!) These treats have helped her to not be as depressed

My cat dashes outside every chance she gets, which is a lot as I have a dog. She's run out and then have me running to the door to see if I can convince her to come in. I can usually get her to come in by bribing her with these & she can hear me shake the bag from quite a distance.

I used to give my cat temptations but stopped because she developed a chicken allergy however she used to go crazy for them. I've also seen them in the UK and Italy but under a different name one being Catisfactions which was in Italy.

i definitely started my cat on temptations, but luckily i figured out very quickly that my kitten loved the chicken flavor more so i still keep temptations in the home, but my main source of treat for my cat now is actually just plain boiled chicken, or if i want something wet for a change, ill give him a tiki cat wet treat stick

I’ve had my cat only a month and for the first hour hid behind our air fryer and cried we lured her out with the catnip temptations. She gets about two a day and she’s a sassy hyper girl.

When I sit on the toilet is when I bring reading material lol (which means I actually READ the back of the packaging. It says 10 to 12 treats PER 10 lbs - I give this to "Mothra" (my cat) as training-inspired and keep her from being a door-dasher. One day she ran outside - all I had to do was shake-the-bag and she came back lol (Thank God). I didn't know they have a puree brand. Thank you for your view - #StandingOvation))))

My youngest rescue loves them for breakfast (not interested in wet food). I just give her a handful every morning. Sometimes she loses her appetite for them when she's having a hairball issue. That's when my other rescues snap them up. I carry some in a pill bottle for stray cats I come in contact with around the apartment complex and golf course. I've used them to lure cats inside pet carriers.

When I introduced these treats to my 1 year old kitty, she slowly stopped eating her wet food then she barely touches her dry food, I noticed she would often eat my plants to throw up and shes pretty small I tried mixing the temptation with her dry food which seems to help in encouraging her to eat her food, I do free feed and she eats when she wants her food bowl last about 3 days before it's done. As much as I love seeing how much she loves them I really want to try a healthier alternative as I know nutrition in temptations is quite low God forbid she stops eat her regular meat-based food and only eats treats. She completely stopped her wet food sigh

Both of my cats absolutely love them. However one of them will immediately vomit them back up, plus more, so I've stopped purchasing them. I will say the cat in question does have a bit of a picky stomach and these are not the only treats she has this reaction with (the chicken hairball formula Greenies she'll also vomit, though she's completely fine with regular chicken Greenies). I'm guessing there's some stomach allergy at play and may not be the fault of the treats necessarily.

Mine go nuts for them. Temptations Hairball Control Chicken Flavor seems to help a lot too with their problem.

Originally we'd give my cat a few Bonkers now and then, but noticed he throw up a few hours later, so we stopped those. We switched to Temptations, which he loved (couldn't even say the name within earshot of him, because he knew it). We'd, again, give him a few once or twice a week. No issues, and he lived to 16 1/2 years old. That's all I can tell you. No matter the treat, I'd be sparing in giving them because they aren't something cats have evolved to ingest. Take care.

Thank you! My kitty gets pure unadulterated minnow treats, freeze dried human grade tuna treats, and pure rabbit treats. These three one ingredient treats are comfortable since devoid of a long list of ingredients more appropriate to a chemistry kit. Your review confirms my instinct on cat treats.

I've got one that is OBSESSED (have taught her tricks with them and she's at the pantry begging level obsessed 😂), two that like them and come get a couple when they hear the bag and 3 that are just like "meh...I'll eat it but it's not my favourite". 1 won't touch them. 🤷‍♀️

My 6 month old kitten can take or leave them, so I only buy the "hairball control" version every now and then. Since I have yet to find a wet food that he will eat, he gets about 6-8 Inaba Churus every day and I hide his Greenies for him to find throughout the day.

I’ve eaten one on accident yikes horrible. By the way we found our indoor cat after 17 days outside. Was four houses away in back yard under the concrete pad of a shed. Prayers were answered Miracle Seems fine lost weight bringing to vet tomorrow. Cry’s when awakes until sees not alone. Jumping on beds when normally wouldn’t.

My two senior cats love Temptations. I don't see any heath issues. They've eaten them for years. They seem addictive because they seem tasty to them.

I realized my cat started throwing up so much after eating them and when she ended up with a UTI I got scared cuz she wasn’t eating or peeing much. After vets and antibiotics Christmas comes around and I bought her a huge box of treats and she’s throwing up again after only having a couple of treats. I took the back and she hasn’t had any temptation treats and she’s had no issues since.

Mine have been eating them for years!!!!! My one cat is 13 and in fact in his life he has never ever ever even been sick!!!! Not one vet appointment other than rabie shots and his claws done. My other is three. My cats never vomit. Only once maybe every three years.....

Great video! My cat loves these treats! As mentioned in the video, these may not be the healthiest, but I haven’t had any real problems that I can pin point to this product. I have been trying to switch my cat to healthier diet but she is soo pickey! While this treat can be seen as a junk food, I still give it to my cat bc she’s gotta live life too. I eat junk food and I kno it’s not good for me but it tastes so good. I don’t want to be too restrictive to my cat for the things she love. I’ll be happy to switch to a healthier treat once She likes another. Still searching…

My cat is a very picky eater and I'll sometimes have to give her a lot of treats because I feel she didn't get enough real food during the day. No matter what food I try she gets to where she doesn't want much of it some days. Or if we travel somewhere she won't touch real food much. I'll have to feed her a bunch of treats the whole time.

Up till a few days ago, I fed my 6 cats half a handful of catnip flavored Temptations in the morning and again before bed and I don't know how to wean them off. One of my cats in particular will only eat the treats because I have changed their food simply because one of my cats just had to have surgery to remove stones. I need to find a substitute simply because I don't want to feed my cats anymore carb laden foods or treats. But it needs to be affordable to feed 6 cats.

My cats like them. I give them a hand full in between meals if they are being restless. I have found they like the catnip flavor over the chicken. When not available, I grab the Greenies Catnip fur ball treats. I haven't had any health issues with any of the five cats that are part of my family. I also feed my strays that come to my "kitty soup kitchen" the treats on top of their main course.

My cat absolutely loves temptations he gets about 10 a day as a treat. Seeing comments on people with elderly or sick cats that eating them to keep them sustained, it sounds like a good thing. I work in a pet store and many people like temptations for their elderly cats with bad teeth, because of the softer center. Lots of people also end up only being able to get their cats to eat the treat purees (from any brand) because their cat is old and or very picky.

My cats (and my moms dog) will do absolutely anything for these treats.

I give my grand kitty Temptations and he loves them but the package says to not give him more than 10 a day. Is this something new on the package? I would never give either one of our cats them in place of food. I’m confused.

For 3 years I had to use Temptations as a major source of food for my almost 20 year old cat who was really sick (heart disease and kidney failure) as he wouldn't eat anything else but that and the Fancy Feast entrees. 😢 He wouldn't even eat home cooked chicken! It probably wasn't good for him but at least he was eating something! I'm not feeding these to my new kitten as he's wet food fed so I can use grain free dry food for treats to teach him tricks and he loves that! 😊🐆

Our other cat has been with us the longest, the Manx is a honey and white she's beautiful our other is a male tabby and she's mean to him sometime he cowders...to her she shows her dominant behavior with him they've been together for 6 months how long if ever will it take for them to be friends?

Temptations Cat treats have been loved by every cat I have ever had and I have never had an issue with them. I only every gave them a few a night. I had to stop giving my cats treats recently though because One of them is diabetic.

I call it kitty crack.... but they love it. Maybe I need to re-think my purchase.

Please review Purina wet food. All 5 of my cats feel ill from it a few years ago when there was a specific number associated with the wet food. Nothing was ever done about it. Thankfully I took my babies off Purina since then and they are doing well. They also eat Temptations treats once a day in little amounts, and are fine.

are Temptations the same as Dreamies? In Finland we have them in the same exact packaging but it's called Dreamies. Our cat goes absolutely crazy when he gets them

My oldest kitty, a Persian, used to love these treats. She knows when I’m opening the pantry that’s when she can get some “cookies” but almost overnight a couple of years ago she just can’t handle them anymore. She would throw them up within the hour after ingestion. No matter how little I’d give. I could give one and I’d be playing with fire here. I’ve tried different flavors and all but she just can’t ingest these now. She’s a very finicky eater so it’s tough to find one she will eat.

They have a maximum amount to feed recommendation on the packet. I wonder if the cats that got sick were just overdosed? Although, one of mine has a daily limit of 2 because they do give her diarrhoea...but so does most things to be honest, even the prescription "sensitive stomach" food 🤷‍♀️

I used to give my cat the temptations puree. Incidentally, at the same time, he got sick and vomitted intermittently for 5 days. He refused to eat his usual diet most of the time, but would go nuts for the puree. Eventually when he got back on his feet, i stopped giving him the puree and he got much better.

One of our cats LOVED these treats, especially the seafood one. The other would not touch them. Go figure.

I worked at a higg end pet store a lady shopped at a little bit but ahe shopped for cheaper things alot more and I saw the temptations treats she used to take out of her trunck. Her cat got elevated calcium she told me it got tested at vet and it was from temptations treats. Sometimes companies put addictive chemicals in cat canned foods too like friskies. People don’t know this . Thry assume its flavor of food .

I taught my Cat just a beautiful ginger tabby but he was taught to sit,stay and even pee in toilet using temptations treats i also have a bengal and he loves them only my savanah will not go for them but in australia they are a lot more than 52c an ounce a basic small bag is around $4.50au.

I’ve given mine Temptations off and on for years and have never had a problem with them. My cats are just addicted to treats, period! I mostly give mine Greenies, but occasionally go to Temptations, hoping that they don’t get tired of one or the other. (What are the chances!)

My 19 yr old cat loved these things, it just died from CKD... Avoiding the by product brands like this stuff could have prolonged his life as he was going down hill over about two months then his last three days he lost half his body weight then I found he could only consume brand's like Hartz Delectables fish 6 packs. Of course I didn't know calcium carbonate was already in it as I broke up 200mg of a 500mg TUMS so I feel guilty for being poor .. Soft food diets low Ash with fluids help old cats...

Cats really used to love these ,but the dairy and chicken flavors made one of our cats extremely sick with runny poops ,stopped the two flavors he was fine but the treats are very high in calories the male cat put on weight with these treats ,switched to Greenies now ,not very fond of them but occasionally they'll accept them .
