4:10 Well... the story is more complicated than that. Yes, their was a show called Ghost Busters about two guys and an ape fighting supernatural creatures. However, besides the name and the fact the trio fought ghosts, the show Ghost Busters literally has no connection with the film. The show, produced by Filmation, had only lasted 15 episode and had been cancelled 10 years before Ghost Busters was even written. Yet, Filmation had a policy to always renew their copyrights. Anyway, flash forward to 1984, Dan Aykroyd and Herald Ramis came up with an idea about a team crossing dimensions fighting huge ghosts and monsters all the size of the Stay-Puff Marshmellowman. It was originally titled GhostMASHERS, until it was given a major overhaul so the film could be made on a realistic budget, and the name was changed to Ghostbusters. No one involved with the project knew the original Ghostbusters Show even existed until Filmation lawyers came knocking. An out of court settlement was reached. The film was allowed to call itself Ghostbusters, but Filmation retained the rights to the name on television. Filmation immediately exploited this situation by making an animated sequel series on television show, just called Ghostbusters. That is why the official film cartoon had to call itself The REAL Ghostbusters instead. So, no, Ghostbusters is not actually a remake, but just the victim of coincidence.

Hate reboots that rewrite the origins. The new Ghostbusters could've been a sequel of the daughters of the original Ghostbusters taking on the family business. Imagine the daughter coming home and complaining about her day to her dad and having a great adlib monolouge/discussion of "back in my day as a ghostbuster." Would be an awesome adlib session if Kristin Wiig played Bill Murray's daughter. Of course Egon's daughter would have to talk to herself. By the way, did you know Bill Murray was not supposed to be in Ghostbusters? He replaced John Belushi whom passed away. The part was rewritten to fit him.

I was trying to look up the original clip of the song at the end and HOLY SHIT there's so much ghostbusters lore I never even realized.

They should make a third ghostbuster movie where it's present and the Ghostbusters has been forgotten but gets reunited because some devilworshipper brings out all hellish ghouls inclusive satan himself for an epic end-battle. And they could have a cool scene with the original ecto-1, collecting dust in a storagefacility, and you hear the engine start up while the lights slowly starts glowing as they put on the sirene and drives away to fight the ghouls:P Would be a good marketing thing, as they can sell toys and collector-stuff after that :P

Great video. I was wondering why we hadn't seen anything for a couple of weeks, now I understand why. It was well worth the wait. I would have loved a scene where Gorilla is sitting in theater when then new reboot is shown, and halfway through he says, "Meh" and walks out. I expect this new movie will be as good as the Robocop reboot (as in, not at all).
