It wasn't really planned by him doing an album. He didn't even want to play music after Kurt died, at least I think he said something like that in some interviews. But then he started recording and because he had no band he did it all alone. Then the demos started circeling and he published it without changing much.

This is the Metal version of Charlie Daniels song “The Devil Came Down To Georgia “ where Charlie and the Devil played for a golden fiddle. Legendary story telling country song. It still holds up today.

The devil being played by Dave Grohl is one of MANY references this movie makes to Tenacious D's first album. Dave Grohl also played the demon in the video for their song Tribute. They've always been pretty tight.

The best part about this movie is the behind the scenes stuff. They asked them how they got Dave Grohl into that Devil costume and they replied: "He just took off his Dave Grohl costume." Everything about this movie is hilarious.

Scott Pilgrim is f*cking classic..... Pick of Destiny is pretty funny, but simplistic. Scott Pilgrim has so many layers. I think I saw it about 10x before I understood everything. Rock music, anime, comicbook and gaming culture. Something for every form of nerd.

The Pick of Destiny was tracked back through history and was part of every great rock and metal band through out it. It was the Devils tooth. After this showdown, Tenacious D were left with that same devils horn. And they made a bong out of it.

Watching this movie is an absolute must. Now that you've got some rock and Metal knowledge under your belt it'll be much more greatly appreciated. This movie and the School of Rock both give great education's on rock and metal music. Also, this movie is hilarious.

I don’t wanna diss Jack by saying you missed his “good days”... but, well... I mean... Just listen to the first Tenacious D album (or better yet react to the tracks on here. :) ). You’ll see. It’s possibly the funniest album in history, but it also just ROCKS, hard. You will not be disappointed. Great reaction. Love.

I was in Concert in Frankfurt and 10K PPL knew every sentence of the movie and they did it completly on stage! Was the best Concert ever @ 10 K PPL had the Movie as Musical on Stage and everyone was singing every word with them!

Tenacious D came first, if i remember. Jack Black actually got famous from the duo. two dumpy guys singing hilarious songs. If you haven't already heard it, their song "Tribute to the greatest song in the world" is awesome, and funny as hell.

Which interestingly "in universe" Tribute is almost certainly referring to their half of Beelzeboss, as hinted by them saying towards the end of the movie that it was the greatest song, and they couldn't remember how it went. The Devil IS a one man band. That's Dave Grohl. The lead of the Foo Fighters. He literally recorded Foo Fighter's first entire album by himself, in his own studio. Also, for the record, the drummer from Nirvana.

Fun facts: 1. the devil is played by Dave grohl of foo fighters and nirvana 2. The song “tribute” by tenacious D is actually a song singing about the rock off with the devil in this film, but they “couldn’t remember” the song they sang so they sang tribute, in real life tribute came out before the film so they obviously just made the film ending fit their old song but it’s cool how they basically made the music video for their own old song the unofficial “sequel” to their own movie lol

Man. I love this movie so much. My BF hates it (he's not a jack black fan lol) but I watch it so much I pretty much sing the entire movie (i can't help myself) lol. He just laughs at me. But this is one of my favorite songs from the movie as well as Master Exploder. Definitely watch it. The song Car Chase City is great too
