in other dramas in these situations, the ML always talks down to the FL . i think it is adorable that he still respects her when talking to her, even though it is still with an attitude. of course we know from the opening of ep 1 that he already liked her since the start of meeting her so there is a conscious reason to not blindly use rude casual speech

I believe the fact that they are acting (almost) their age makes it quite natural......not some actor/actress already almost 30 acting the 18 yr old character. No matter how good the acting is, sometimes, the age seeps in. It is different when watching fantasy or period drama. ( JUST MY OPINION )
