Tenerife Walking. From Los Gigantes to Playa San Juan.

Is it possible to walk from Los Gigantes to Playa San Juan? Yes of course it is? But is it possible to walk the route along the coast?
Yes, almost. Apart from a short detour in Puerto Santiago and Alcalá, we could actually walk all the way along the coast.
On part of the route you walk on sidewalks, elsewhere on primitive paths. It is a really nice hike.
We went on the trip on 31.01.2022 - a day with a dry haze in the air due to Calima - sand dust from the Sahara.

Great walk, done it lots of times, although I preferred it when it was only a dirt track and there were some of the old walls left. Talked to some interesting Motorhome people along there by the beach house. The undercut by the wall is getting bigger now though, it will need a proper bridge sometime. The bar near Alcala is good for a stop as well. Did you know there is a camera on the hotel at Alcala, some good views of the walkway from up there.

We travel every winter to Tenerife and we always walk from Los Gigantes to Playa San Juan. It is just over 10 kilometers from the marina in Log Gigantes to the port in Play San Juan. It's a great walk. We take the bus back :-)

Hin und zurück 22 Km. Bei über 25 Grad sollte man genügend zu trinken mitnehmen oder unterwegs an einem der Super Mercanos genügend Wasser einkaufen.
