I love Jay's idea that TENET is reverse time-traveling in realtime instead of just teleporting back in time. Speaking of reversing time, I think this review was the first recorded after vacation even though it's the fourth one posted.

I agree about the "actually traveling back in time", if only because there has to be a cost to doing it (energy consumption, hardware requirements, etc.) so it doesn't happen all over the place, all the time. To that end, I also think that inversion won't be able to be triggered with just anything; more things have to limit it, and one possibility is the red chamber. Maybe you have to put things in that chamber, and they get "primed" for inversion. Then you can trigger their inversion later with a separate device (i.e. "a tenet"). This would help prevent the idea that good guys and bad guys could just go around "time zapping" each other.

It's like fastforwarding a movie seeing a glimpse of the scenes to come and you rewind up to a certain point and take it from there except they are witnessing it in real life. The how or why or ... who knows we'll have to see it to find out.

I’ve seen this trailer a few times (original and a couple reactions), but I didn’t notice the boat going backwards. I think the camera panning made it look like it was going forward while traveling backwards. Also I see Jay as a really good companion to the Doctor.

I agree with the one of the comments, watch backwards you'd see a lot more.also the tag line"time runs out" ie out runs time backwards. There are some moving forward while things and others are moving backwards

I had to look it up because I remembered the mall at the Crystal City Metro stop being 5+ floors, not 3-4. Just FYI! Much love!

Ever play Braid? Where you can forward and reverse time of all the other objects in the level but you can always travel forward? This reminds me of that.

Just sa small note: if you watch this trailer backwards, it also makes a lot of sense. Just like saying the title of the movie.

It’s easier to spot the time reversals when the trailer run backwards. I got chills when that one guy said “Tenet” and it sounded the same in reverse. I should have guessed that would happen but it still caught me off guard.

What if the trailer is the story backwards? What if the people the main character is protecting IS the government due to the program "tenant" the very end of the trailer is them running from the bad guys who will catch him in the beginning (which is the end.)

The one thing I don't really like about Nolan's films is how much the characters love to talk about the importance of what they're doing... but that's about it. Can't wait to see this movie... then buy it to watch it backwards and argue about theories with people on the internet.

I saw this movie, and I definitely think the British TV series Red Dwarf epsisode SDRAWKCAB may have been an inspiration for this....Right down to going toilet backwards.

If the "wrong" people can manipulate time, it could definitely be worse than a nuclear holocaust. i think the test he passes at the beginning of the trailer, he actually dies, but they loop time back, so he's alive, hence "welcome to the afterlife." Has anyone figured out what the scientist is showing him at the end of the hallway?

Jeez Adam figured out Nolan without even seeing the movie. Nolan built a movie out of playing reversed footage on green screen and the actors choreographing moves on cue.

Tenet (not Tennant) is an example of a palindrome; a word spelled the same backwards as it is spelled forwards. The word Tenet is defined as a core principle of a religion, which I don’t think has any meaning in the film itself. Unless you think of Christopher Nolan’s movies as his religion and time itself is one of the tenets

After The Dark Knight Rises, I don't really care about Nolan's movies anymore. Sorry, bro. It all looks pretentious. I think Nolan better make art movies than making high budget dream sequence time travel etc.
