I had grown weary of the UT football program with the revolving coaches. We had another new savior who I'd never heard of and didn't care; blah, blah, blah. I had decided to watch mostly Rick Barnes teams and give up on football, but I started paying attention when they hit the cellar post GA State. I was intrigued by this Pruitt fella. How he didn't let the noise phase he and his team. You could tell that he was in the weeds of everything going on. He wasn't blowing smoke to the press or trying to save his own butt. This guy was "real"! The pundants were calling him a terrible coach; way in over his head as a head coach. The AD had made a grave mistake. That's not what I saw. I saw a coach doing good work; staying the course, being transparent. In the end, he was right about his staff and team and proved the know-it-alls all wrong. Now for a turnaround season; maybe; but old timers remember the UT teams that never lost in November but were mediocre overall. November was and still is poor competition. Well, the same can be said for this team, however, this is not the program it once was, and so mediocre is pretty da** impressive from where they've been lately. Remember 0-8. Not anywhere close to that bad.

Ugh, as a Vols fan, and being owned by Florida for so long I hate you, but as a fan of sportsmanship and competition, y'all have had our number for so long I can't say shit to you. Hopefully both teams keep that rivalry going for years to come, makes for some nail-biting games.

Roo Jeremy Pruitt hosted a full team meeting right after the Florida game

Jacob Buchanan why. When wouldn’t have went to the bowl game if it wasn’t for him. He won us the Kentucky game when Maurer ok scored 3 in the first half and JG comes in, in the second half and scores 3 touchdowns and we won, then the Missouri game where Guarantano started and threw for 415 yards which is top 3 for most every yards thrown by a Tennessee quarterback, then he won SEC player of the week, then he started in both the Vanderbilt and bowl game and we won both. He didn’t start out the season well but he is so good now and we need him next year. Oh and I’m only 13 years old and apparently you don’t know anything because he is the reason we went to a bowl game and the whole second half of the season was amazing for him. Well to bad for you because he is coming back next year and JG will lay the smack down on the schedules ass. JG

@@Sportsguy-rl8wj JG is a liability. His only good game was against Mizzou. We ran the hell out of the ball on everyone else. 2 years in a row he couldn't throw against VANDY. He nearly cost us the bowl game with his stupid ass plays. Dude should have transferred out especially with the high quality talent we have in the program RIGHT NOW. We still have Maurer and we added Bailey, Holiday, with Hill being eligible this year. JG is slow, cant read a defense, and heavily relied on Callaway/Jennings to bail his ass out on multiple occasions because he threw up lame duck passes or a 3 yard hitch routes that they broke for a big gain

Sportsguy1017 He did not win us that Vandy game or the bowl game. Eric Gray won that for us. Guarentano started off against Vandy 0/7 with an interception. Vandy has the worst defense in the SEC and he couldn’t even throw against them. The bowl game he just looked flat out pitiful. The last scoring drive was him throwing two check downs to Gray and Gray topping it off with a touchdown. He is going on his 4th year and still is shaken against just about every team.

Hes talking about Georgia southern but he dont realize everytime a big school plays someone like that the smaller school receives money to come and play with the bigger school that's the only reason a smaller school would want to do that and if Tennessee played them about 4 weeks later they would have won by 30 and everyone knows it this kid has probably always liked Alabama bc "they are the best" and he has no idea what it's like to stick with a team but he will find out soon enough bc Tennessee is on the rise

Congratulations you beat a sub par Tennessee team with terrible coaches at home when you had nfl talent in Mariota good job its gonna be great when Tennessee makes it back and none of these "bigtime" schools want to play anymore so just enjoy playing those little conference schools you got and we will keep battling with Florida Georgia Alabama and the like

@@youngneesnuts Oregon is in a weak conference. Yea, they had a few good teams over the years, but what all do they have to show for it? Mariota won the Heisman, got drafted number 2 and is now a backup to Derrick Carr.
