Josh Huepel and Tennessee using wider splits with the threat of quick screens and downfield RPO's to create good numbers in the box to run downhill.

How difficult is it for a defense to play against this offense?

I would think it is difficult with the amount of balance it brings. You really have to compartmentalize your defense and feel good about winning one on ones in the box or on the edge. Thanks for watching!

@@coachescaviar8898 Yeah agreed, for instance Kentucky looked to be in some quarter-quarter-half cover in but it end up working against them. This type of offense forces the defense to play man coverage for vast majority of the game which allows the offensive coordinator to make the opposing defense more predictable, thus making them a mercenary to whatever play he calls. The only thing is “recruiting”, you have to recruit the guys that can win 1 on 1 every down. The OL has to be physical and be able win on block schemes every down. RB’s have to have good patience and vision, to help win on the ground, Wr’s must beat the guy in front of them, high pointing the ball, good releases etc. The way to beat this is to stack the box and make the team beat you 1 on 1 on the outside. Stop the ground game and it puts you in positions. More talented Defenses like Bama or Georgia usually have no problem with the type of schemes.

@@unshakeabletruthsportstalk3625 All great points. Will be interesting to see how they continue to grow and the guys they recruit for those outside spots.

@@unshakeabletruthsportstalk3625 heupel is doing a great job recruiting offensive talent so far. All of our receivers that came in in our 2022 class are all track guys. They have the speed to outrun anyone in the country.
