If that's what is rubbing you the wrong way then you are a bit strange. It's a valid tactic to drill your opponent that is coming to the net. It's not like he actually hit him. Rafa acted like a baby on that one. Don't forget that rafa is also the player that holds up the games alot with his slow pace in between points which annoys alot of players. This one was justified for the simple reason that it got him the point and rafa wasn't hurt either cause he got his racket infront of him. Take a look back at Nadal vs Djokovic where nadal hit him in the face at a pretty short distance. It was the right ball to play for Nadal and Djokovic should have just taken it like a man.

As a class act as he always is, he said he has no problem to take a ball from someone who wants to hit him, because he is a professional tennis player and he knows how to react to those kind of situations (defense himself), but it can really be dangerous when you have that intention and the ball goes the wrong way because it can hit another person. He also said the press should stop paying attention to those kind of stuff because that’s precisely what Kyrgios wants. He acknowledges that Kyrgios is an amazing player when he wants to and that the press should focused on helping him by talking about his capacity as a tennis player instead of his behavior. This was in the Spanish part of the press conference. Kyrgios is a jerk, good player but a big jerk.
