By far one of the best videos I've watched ! Despite not being new, far from it, I prefer to invest in technique. I am aware that I will lose more often and take longer to be consistent than if I picked up the racket and played in the way that suited me best, as I see happening with so many players who get good results and I am not talking about the predestined ones. The problem is that these players reach a level from which it is no longer possible to evolve. For this reason I prefer to invest in technique because the day I start to beat the so-called "others" I have no doubt that they will hardly beat me again. Thank you Meike for helping me to reinforce this idea of mine, with this sensational video.

I've been doing this with my Jrs. I play 4.5 usually my singles matches go pretty quick using the set up method and different shape on different shot positions.

Hi Meike, you gave me tip #1 on a comment on another video, and I can tell you it changed completely my forehand, for better of course! This is one of the best tips any coach gave to me and the impact on my forehand was immense. I started to naturally get and feel that lag. Thanks again for sharing and your great videos.

Absolutely love this lesson. I was fortunate to have been trained by an experienced coach who literally drilled these skills into me. Now as an old high school and USTA Junior coach I have added a few ideas. I have noticed many players just hit and hope it goes in with no particular strategy in mind. There are three P’s for every shot. First every shot has a Purpose It can be defensive to keep you in the point. 2.it can be neutral to try to wait for a better opportunity 3. It can be aggressive to put your opponent on defense. Second every shot has Placement to a particular zone of the court in relation to it’s intended purpose. Third every shot has Pace which includes its spin and net clearance. If you’re hitting on defense hit higher and slower with top spin to give yourself time to recover and reposition on the court. On neutral shots use spin and pace to deny your opponent the advantage of being able to attack. When you’re inside the court and building a point use spin and pace to set up a placement to end the point.

So setting up to successfully get 1 point has 2 steps: Step-1: Point Building Shot Step-2: Actually hitting the winner(killing-shot) Hmmm.........I never thought of getting points like this 🙂👍👍👍

Unless you’re Alcaraz or Swiatek, then you can hit winners from anywhere of the stadium
